Week 8 is in the books and we saw teams separate themselves in the many different divisional races throughout the NFL. While some teams such as the Chargers closed the gap on their division leader, this season seems like it will be a go down the stretch as teams fight for playoff positioning. Here are the week 9 rankings. 1. New Orleans Saints (9-0) – Another come from behind victory in a game they were supposed to lose. The Saints should be the number one team in every power rankings around the country if you ask me. 2. Indianapolis Colts (9-0) – If it weren’t for a kicker who couldn’t do his job, the Manning’s would no longer be undefeated. Big game against archrival New England this Sunday night. 3. Minnesota Vikings (7-1) – Fresh off their bye week, they get the dreadful Lions. But if you remember from last year, Detroit always played Minnesota tough. So it will be closer than expected. 4. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) – The Steelers showed why they are my favorite ...

Vince Now Young in Name Only

by Nancy GayFiled under: NFL Coaching, NFL Quarterbacks, NFL AnalysisSAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Did someone know what they were doing with Vince Young in Tennessee? Apparently so. There's no doubt that Young is a different quarterback as a starter in 2009 than he was in 2007 and during that infamous opening week game of '08, when the former Titans' No. 1 draft pick sustained...

Tennessee Titans 34, San Francisco 49ers 27

Vince Young led the Tennessee Titans (2-6) to their second straight victory, beating the San Francisco 49ers (3-5) on the road.  Young didn’t put up any eye-popping numbers, going 12/19 for 172 yards, but the quarterback is a winner and proved that again Sunday.  Young made plays when they were needed and gave the Titans [...]

Titans-49ers one-liners

The Titans forced four turnovers and racked up four sacks during their 34-27 victory. RB Chris Johnson's go-ahead touchdown came when the Titans called an option play with QB Vince Young. Titans WR Justin Gage has returned to prominence since...

Hook 'Em Horns!!!!

In the biggest college game in years....on a field littered with stars.....it was quite easy to figure out who the best player was. He wore #10 and you usually can find him in the endzone. Vince Young completed the Mother of all years. His national legend was pretty much born in the Rose Bowl on the first day of 2005. It grew in Columbus....and in Dallas....and in Dallas....and...

Terrelle Pryor Isn't The Next Vince Young - He's the Next Terrelle Pryor

The comparisons were inevitable, but physical attributes and sick, almost freakish athletic ability aside, I believe that Terrelle Pryor and Vince Young could both go down as two of the best quarterbacks that college football has ever seen...Read the full article on Bleacher Report...

A Change in Philosophy

I have to admit it.  I'm fascinated by Thursday night's game in San Francisco.  The Chicago Bears are only a few inches from plummeting off the cliff of the 2009 season and now, on only a three-day turnaround, must ignore the media's call for accountability and fans' call for pink slips to provide a major effort in front of a national audience.  The...

Shanoff's WUC: Cowboys, 8-0, TCU, UNC-Isiah

Today's Calls: Cowboys vs. Giants, Wildcat vs. Brady-to-Moss, Vince Young vs. Josh Freeman, TCU vs. Texas, Jordan Shipley vs. Colt McCoy, Kentucky vs. the Field, UNC vs. Isiah and More. The Opening Pitch: Lot of talk this morning about "teams to beat." Like the Cowboys as the new team-to-beat in the NFC East. Although that doesn't make them the team to beat...

Can the Buffalo Bills Contain Chris Johnson and the Tennessee Titans?

The Buffalo Bills are entering Week 10 coming off of a bye week, which has allowed their injured players time to heal. Trend Edwards is expected to start after missing the previous two games due to a concussion. Tennessee has looked strong since they gave Vince Young the starting job, mostly due to the astounding play of second year running back Chris Johnson. the Bleacher Reports

Cortland Finnegan Powers Titans' Win Streak as Tennessee Fights Back

Vince Young and Chris Johnson might make the highlight reels, but the real reason behind the Tennessee Titans' recent win streak is the return of Pro Bowl CB Cortland Finnegan...Read the full article on Bleacher Report...

Titans Win Over Niners 34-27

The Tennessee Titans won their second straight game with a 34-27 victory against the San Francisco 49ers. Highlighted by Chris Johnson's 135 rushing yards and the Titans defense getting four sacks to go with four turnovers, the Titans recorded their first road win since defeating the Lions last Thanksgiving. Vince Young had another solid outing going 12-for-19 for 172 yards and...
