Rumors and Rants:
This season, the luckiest Cleveland Browns fan in the world will be Scott Entsminger, because he’s dead.
Don’t worry, there’s no “too soon” on that one. I know Entsminger would appreciate the joke, because I read his obituary.
The 55-year-old resident of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on July 4, which kind of sucks because only in death did most of us learn how awesome he was.
The Browns were the thread that weaved through his life story between moments that were actually good, including his stint as guitarist for The Old Fogey Band. (We assume that was a good moment, because it sure sounds awesome).
Entsminger was a season-ticket holder who wrote a new song for the Browns every year and sent it to the team, though I feel the obit would specify if he was the one responsible for penning the hit “Bernie, Bernie.” (Listening to the song, you will hear what sounds like a young Peter Griffin singing back-up vocals).
Anyway, after spending far too much of his own money on the Browns over th...
BEST OF MAXIM
Cleveland Browns QB Brandon Weeden says the new Norv Turner offense is a perfect fit for TE Jordan Cameron.
The downfield vertical passing attack features the tight end in the middle of the field and opens up their athletic ability to make plays.
Cameron is one of the most athletic TE's in the NFL and he will create mismatches against linebackers and safeties and Turner will...
Training camp doesn’t start for almost another three weeks, so it’s the perfect time to make largely uninformed predictions about what this season will hold for the Browns. But let’s not be blindly optimistic with these forecasts. Instead, I’ll offer both a best and worst case scenario in a variety of different areas relating to the Browns season.
Amid the FBI investigating his company, Pilot Flying J for fraud, and it's huge debt to creditors, Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam says there's no chance he's selling the team.
"Absolutely not," Haslam told Tony Grossi ESPNCleveland.com. "We plan on owning the Browns for a long time.”
“Since October, we put together a completely new front...
Scott E. Entsminger's obituary included a request to be let down by the Cleveland Browns one more time.
The Browns organization got word of Entsminger's request and has acted to lift up his family in its time of mourning.
A day after Entsminger's request for six Browns players to serve as pallbearers went viral, a Browns spokesman confirmed Tuesday that the team reached...
Cleveland Browns RB Trent Richardson began his scheduled running program back home in Pensacola, FL, and barring any setbacks, looks to be ready to join his teammates on the field when training camp begins on July 24th.
The team is hoping his nagging leg injury is fully recovered as there's always possibilty they could err on the side of caution and keep him out of camp...
A spokesman for Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam says Haslam has no plans to sell the franchise despite legal troubles with the company he runs.
FBI agents say transcripts of secretly recorded calls among Pilot Flying J employees reveal a scheme to defraud trucking companies of fuel rebates, and five members of the sales staff at the nation's largest diesel retailer have...
A good-humored Ohio man who was taken from us too soon isn't getting his final, tongue-in-cheek wish granted by his beloved Cleveland Browns, but they're honoring him despite the fact he took a shot at them on his way out. After he died at the age of 55 last week, it was noted in Scott Entsminger's obituary that the lifelong Browns fans "respectfully requests six...
We just found out that Broncos front office executive Matt Russell of the Broncos was charged with DUI.
Now Broncos pro personnel director Tom Heckert has been busted for DUI on June 11th, according to ProFootballTalk.com.
Either the Broncos have bad luck, they hired the wrong guys, or they overlooked some serious off the field issues with both Russell and Heckert.
I can’t wait...
Earlier this offseason, it appeared that Cleveland Browns
running back Trent Richardson was at risk of missing the start of training camp
due to injury. However, Mary Kay Cabot of The Plain Dealer reports Richardson
has begun his running program as scheduled, adding that the running back is “still
on track for camp.”
While this is certainly good news, Cabot believes the Browns...
A Cleveland Browns fan requested that six Browns players act as pallbearers for his funeral so they could “let him down one last time.” Fans of the Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals and Tony Romo know the feeling…
