Mark Sanchez is taking this cold-weather thing very seriously. For the second straight day, he practiced in shirt sleeves, bare arms exposed to the elements. It wasn't that big a deal yesterday, but it was considerably colder today, and he was one of maybe two or three players who opted for the sleeveless look.
Sanchez, 0-1 in cold-weather games, is trying to get acclimated to the Northeast after spending his entire life in So Cal. If the forecast is accurate, he will be spared on Sunday against the Jaguars. The temperature is supposed to be in the 60s, with a light wind.
The rookie QB is learning on the fly. Maybe you noticed at the last home game, but he no longer takes as many pre-game warmup throws as he used to. He used to make 50 throws before every game, but on a tip from second-year QB Kevin O'Connell, he scaled back to soft tossing.
