Patriots coach Bill Belichick still wants to finish. After watching the film of the 31-24 win over the Colts, that hasn’t changed.
A day after the game, his point of emphasis hadn’t changed.
“We talk about it from day one,” Belichick said. “We’re trying to do that, but obviously, we gotta do a better job. Gotta coach it better, gotta play it better, we all gotta do it better. It’s never not been a goal. But obviously we aren’t getting it done.”
He was asked if it’s lack of concentration. “Just not getting it done,” he said.
Belichick was in a pretty sour mood, though he brightened up when the conversation turned to center Nick McDonald. Belichick left open the possibility of him competing at center. As for other topics, Belichick lauded Jerod Mayo’s play against the pass, said there were other problems on defense when CB Devin McCourty allowed those two receptions, and summed up the Taylor Price Era by saying, “It just didn’t work out.”
