With the departure of former starting safety Charlie Peprah, who was released in a very similar manner to former inside linebacker Brandon Chillar for failing his physical at the start of training camp in 2010, all eyes now look towards Charles Woodson, MD Jennings and Jerron McMillian to see which ends up being the starting safety opposite Morgan Burnett. Only a couple of problems; Woodson is desperately needed at the line of scrimmage as the slot cornerback, Jerron McMillian is a 4th round rookie who naturally shouldn’t be counted on to step in as a starting safety and actually produce and MD Jennings, who despite being a “football nerd” and making it as a undrafted rookie free agent last year “is too small and short and looks like a cornerback instead of a safety” as paraphrased by Bill Johnson during Green and Gold Today on July 25th, 2012. Is “the doctor” really too short and too small to be a safety with the Green Bay Packers?  I think the prototypical “safety” Bill Johnson is...

Packers TE: I wrestle cows

Packers tight end D.J. Williams said he has come back looking stronger this year in training camp because he wrestled cows during the offseason.

Morgan Burnett Emerging as Key Figure in Packers’ Secondary

Safety Morgan Burnett Taking Charge After the Green Bay Packers cut ties with Pro Bowl safety Nick Collins, the importance of Morgan Burnett undoubtedly grew larger. On top of being the Packers’ key communicator on the back end of the defense, he was a turnover machine, constantly hovering deep in the middle of the defense waiting for his opportunity to jump routes or lay the lumber...

Gurley hopes to be Lambeau Leaping soon

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- It wasn't quite a Lambeau Leap, but Packers wide receiver Tori Gurley did the next best thing during Day 4 of Packers training camp. Practicing across the street from Lambeau Field at the team's outdoor facility, Ray Nitschke Field, Gurley got up-close and personal with a few of the approximately 2,000 fans in attendance. Gurley, Green Bay's tallest...

Driver: 'I want to play until Im 40'

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- When the alarm begins to sound inside Donald Driver's college dorm room, his home during training camp, the 37-year-old Packers wide receiver still has the motivation after 13 NFL seasons not hit the snooze button. That might not seem like much, but to Driver, it means everything. For Driver, it's a sign that he still has the energy to show up for a drill...

Goodell on Jolly: 'We can check on it for you'

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Former Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly is apparently quite low on the priority list of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. With Goodell in Green Bay for the Packers' training camp practice Wednesday morning as part of his brief preseason tour, a potential NFL return for the indefinitely suspended Jolly was a topic that was met with a quick response. ...

Packers' Jennings returns to practice

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Three missed practices was enough for Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings. As Green Bay began Day 6 of training camp Wednesday morning, Jennings was back on the field after suffering an elbow bruise five days earlier. There was other good news on the Packers' injury front, with linebacker Desmond Bishop (calf) and fullback John Kuhn (knee) both going through...

Packers' Walden suspended one game by the league

Green Bay Packers linebacker Erik Walden was suspended for one game by the NFL on Tuesday as a result of an arrest last November. Walden was charged following a dispute with his girlfriend, and he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges. He avoided jail time, but the league decided to punish him for what it considered a violation of the Personal Conduct Policy...

Packers cut Anthony Hargrove

Defensive end Anthony Hargrove, already facing an eight-game suspension for his role in the Saints bounty pool, has been released by the Green Bay Packers. The NFL has said the Saints' bounty program paid defensive players improper cash bonuses for hits that injured opponents from 2009 through 2011. The 29-year-old Hargrove has denied NFL accusations that he lied to league...

Durability The Question With Daniels

While it’s probably unfair to compare Mike Daniels to Mike Neal, that won’t stop some fans from making the analogy after the rookie from Iowa left Tuesday’s practice with a groin and/or knee injury. Neal has played in only 10 games since joining the Packers in 2010. Daniels, whose durability was questioned by scouts prior [...]

Packers TE Jermichael Finley Back At Practice

Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley has returned to practice after sitting out several days following what his wife described on Twitter was a mild concussion. Jason Wilde of ESPN Milwaukee reports Finley was participating in practice this morning but that he has been held out of full 11-on-11 work. That makes sense. The Packers will work him in slowly as he comes back...

Packer Practice Review : 7/31/12 Video

This is the the losersbracket.com style review of the Green Bay Packer Practice us losers attended today. First let’s get to the chicks!  This may have been a certain media star Jen Lada in front of us… best view of the day folks. Jen Lada is smaller than Shaky Smithson (it’s not even that close!)   Here are our (in no particular order) non media filtered unbiased observations...
