After back-to-back seasons cut short by injury, linebacker Prescott Burgess was able to enjoy some good news when he learned that he had made the Ravens' 53-man roster earlier today. Burgess was thought to have been on the bubble and battling with rookies Jason Phillips, William VanDeSteeg and Tony Fein for a spot in a deep linebacking corps. Phillips was placed in injured reserve with a knee injury and VanDeSteeg and Fein were cut. "It's a business," Burgess ,25, said. "No matter how well I thought I had played, it's always about what they need for the team. I like to think that I showed them that I'm a Raven, and I'm glad they're keeping me around." The 6-foot-3, 247-pound Burgess, a sixth-round draft pick in 2007, played very well in the team's preseason finale, collecting three tackles (including one for a loss) on defense and another on special teams.
