The Atlanta Falcons defeated the Cleveland Browns yesterday in a hard fought battle to the end. In a game that many people expected Atlanta to build an early lead and just roll along in the second half, Cleveland was able to hang in the game. Although, once our old friend and foe from Carolina Jake Delhomme was forced to enter the game, things did get a little easier for Atlanta.
The Browns held a small 7-6 lead when Seneca Wallace exited the game with an injury right before halftime. Delhomme was able to lead the offense down the field for a field goal, but he was his usual helpless self overall. Eric Mangini should have thrown in Colt McCoy at that point, because everyone in the “Dawg Pound” had to know that Delhomme would help the Falcons win the game more than he would his own team.
