When all was said and done last Sunday, the Patriots were the 2nd seed in the AFC, receiving a bye that only one week before looked like a longshot. They were still kicking themselves over the 49ers loss. While they won't be playing this weekend, it certainly doesn't mean it's a week off of work. Just ask Aaron Hernandez. “I feel like, instead of thinking of it as a week off, thinking of it as a week to get better,” tight end Aaron Hernandez told Michael Whitmer of the Boston Globe. “We all need to get better, we need to grow as a team during this week, take that step. “We have a couple practices where we’re going to go hard, and work on the things we need to work on, and then the days we have off, relax, maybe watch a little bit of film, get some mental reps, and that’s about it.” The Patriots could learn who they'll be facing Jan. 13th in Foxoborough as early as Saturday, and Aaron will be tuning in to the games to see how things play out. Head coach Bill Belichick of course, fels the same way about the bye. “Nobody ever said it was a week off,” he said. “We’re here, there are things we can accomplish, things that we can do, things that we’re doing. That’s what we’re here for.”
