On Sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals released linebacker, and former first round pick, Aaron Maybin. This week, the sequence featuring Maybin getting cut was featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks, including a deeper look into Maybin the person, who happens to be quite the artist. Maybin says that he turned his phone off when the episode aired Tuesday night, according to TMZ. However, when he turned his phone back on, Maybin says that he was inundated with messages not from people consoling him, but from those interested in purchasing some of his art. Maybin’s online gallery had “one of, if not the biggest nights” he’s ever seen, Maybin told TMZ. “Regardless of whatever happens football-wise, I’m probably gonna make more money in my art career,” he said. To drive that point home, the report states some of Maybin’s artwork has sold for as much as $20,000 — so there’s clearly some real talent there. Check out a couple random examples of Maybin’s paintings in the Instagram images below. Filed under

There's a chance Aaron Maybin's pro football career is over, but at least his departing appearance on HBO's Hard Knocks could set him up for a whole new profession.
Maybin was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, but before that happened he had a chance to introduce HBO's audience to his hobby. During Tuesday's episode, we saw the former first-round...
A crazy man? Maybe, maybe not. But James Harrison certainly comes off as crazy, man.
This was a statement of fact -- and one Harrison would in some ways appreciate -- before he became the focal point of Hard Knocks with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Hard Knocks is really good television, by the way.
So is Harrison.

Cincinnati Bengals’ cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones has had his court date continued on Monday until Oct. 7.

In a slightly amusing — yet derivative — new commercial for Pepsi’s “Are You Fan Enough” campaign, Cincinnati Bengals ginger-haired quarterback Andy Dalton visits the home of some Bengals fans to showcase his new fragrance (not a perfume, says Dalton, so it’s a unisex scent). The new fragrance, simply named “Andy Dalton Fragrance,” contains real […]The post Bengals...
In the most recent episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” Cincinnati Bengals running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis received some special treatment from team owner Mike Brown. Brown wheeled the Lawfirm into practice on his golf cart, leading Green-Ellis to place his hand upon the owner’s knee as a gesture of endearment. Head coach Marvin Lewis instantly began […]
CINCINNATI (AP) -- Bengals receiver Andrew Hawkins is expected to miss the last two preseason games because of a sprained ankle, leaving him a candidate to wind up on injured reserve.
Hawkins sprained his left ankle while trying to make a catch on Aug. 1, and it was placed in a cast. Coach Marvin Lewis says Tuesday that Hawkins will get the cast off this week so the ankle can be...
Viewers tuned into the HBO’s Hard Knocks last night and watched as long time struggling DE, now turned LB, Aaron Maybin, was released from the Bengals squad. This may not be such a bad thing for Maybin however. One of the focuses of the Hard Knocks episode was Maybin’s passion for art and some of the work he’s done.
TMZ is now reporting that the Hard Knocks episode may have...
Apparently, a player riding a cart into practice with his owner is the NFL equivalent of a student hanging out with a teacher after school. Rolling with the head honcho is grounds for humiliation if you play football in Cincinnati. It’s simply inadmissible. So when BenJarvus Green-Ellis showed up for work in the passenger seat next to owner Mike Brown, his teammates and coaches...
