With a 49-23 win over the Denver Broncos (1-3), the Green Bay Packers (4-0) join the Detroit Lions as the only other undefeated team in the NFL. Offensively, the Packers are unstoppable as they’ve averaged a ridiculous 37 points per game on their four game winning streak.

Aaron Rodgers has shown he’s the premiere quarterback in the NFL and a legitimate MVP contender with another near-perfect performance including six total touchdowns.

In many ways, the Packers are putting up college-like numbers, something the Wisconsin Badgers are doing on a regular basis in the very same state.

On Saturday night, the Badgers’ QB Russell Wilson put forth an impressive performance against Nebraska in a 48-17 win. Wilson established his self in the Heisman race by throwing for two touchdown passes and running for another. (Quick Plug: Make sure to follow @RussellManiaXVI for Heisman support)

But just to make sure everyone knows who the best QB in the state is, Rodgers topped Wilson’s performance by running for not one, but two touchdowns and throwing for a career high 408 yards. Oh yeah, Rodgers also threw for a career-high four touchdowns as well.

As a witness to both games, I can personally say Rodgers and Wilson played a very similar game. They both did an exceptional job at throwing the deep ball and wisely checking down to the halfback when needed. Moreover, the biggest parallel between the two signal-callers is what they both can do on the ground with their feet to avoid blitzing defenders and picking up the big first down or scoring a touchdown.

Along with the play of Rodgers, I didn’t even mention how MVP candidate and Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun hit his first home-run in the postseason as the Brewers attempt to take a 2-0 game lead in the NLDS.

The point is that fans of Wisconsin teams shouldn’t take it for granted that they have four players, along with Prince Fielder, who are on the verge of bringing the Dairy State an embarrassment of riches in 2011. Sconnies, enjoy it while you can because you just don’t know how often something this great comes around!

What do you think of the onslaught of points the Packers are scoring on other teams? Does Russell Wilson’s gameplay remind you of Aaron Rodgers at all? Let me know by commenting below!
