GREEN BAY, Wis. -- As the Green Bay Packers began practice Tuesdaymorning, there was one notable missing player. There was no sign of quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, the Packers weren't worried about Rodgers' absence. And, after practice, coach Mike McCarthy explained why. "Aaron was held from practice due to an illness," McCarthy said. "We'll expect him to practice tomorrow." Rodgers had not missed any practice time before Tuesday. But, considering Rodgers is a former NFL Most Valuable Player, led Green Bay to a Super Bowl victory in 2011 and signed the richest contract in league history four months ago, there were plenty of questions surrounding his nonattendance. "Aaron is one of many thousands of people who have a head cold," McCarthy said. With Rodgers not available, backup quarterbacks Graham Harrell, Vince Young and B.J. Coleman all got increased snaps. In the no-huddle drill, which typically moves at a swift pace in the final practice period, the Packers' offense wasn't nearly as efficient with Harrell behind center. "I don't like when No. 12 isn't on the field," McCarthy said. Follow Paul Imig on Twitter
