Two teams heading in different directions met Sunday and continued to head in those same directions. Green Bay won their fourth straight game Sunday 31-17 over Arizona, handing the Cardinals their fifth straight loss. The Green Bay Packers rushed for 176 yards, their best total since October of 2009. None of those rushing yards went for a touchdown, and Aaron Rodgers had 33 of the yards, but it is a good sign the team still accounted for 143 yards on hand-offs."That's the way you want to run the ball," McCarthy said. "Aaron obviously made some plays with his feet and added to the total. I was very pleased with the rushing effort."More significant were the injuries.Already without five starters, Jordy Nelson injured his ankle late in the 1st quarter and did not return. Right tackle Brian Bulaga left the game early in the 2nd quarter with a hip injury and did not return. Clay Matthews injured his hamstring late in the 3rd quarter and also did not return. It was ...

The Internet’s Melissa Stark rumors

I see it every Sunday. Or at least the time on Sunday when Melissa Stark is on television. Here’s our Stark photo/bio page by the way. People reach the site by searching for “Melissa Stark rumor(s)”. I encounter something very similar every time the Packers are on tv with the following search strings: “Aaron Rodgers gay” “Aaron Rodgers gay rumors” “Is Aaron Rodgers...

Green Bay Packers use big play to seal win against Arizona Cardinals

The Green Bay Packers used a 72-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to Tom Crabtree to seal a 31-17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Randall Cobb added two touchdowns on only three catches, but he also had 29 rushing yards and 46 yards on punt returns and 90 kick returns for a total of 202 all-purpose yards. The Packers also got a running game going as Alex Green, James Starks...

Texans look ahead to big test in Chicago

HOUSTON (AP) -- The Houston Texans are still looking for a challenger in the AFC after improving to 7-0 in their conference with a 21-9 win over Buffalo. Houston's only defeat so far came against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in a humiliating nationally televised game. The Texans (7-1) get another chance this weekend to show a prime-time audience how they stack up...

Green Bay Packers Cruise Over Arizona Cardinals: Hero-Zero Of The Game

This win for the Packers is more proof that their slow start to the season is nothing to worry about and they are back in the running for the Super Bowl.  On the other side, this loss for the Cardinals also proved something about their fast start to the season, it was a fluke.  After starting the season 4-0, the Cardinals have since lost five straight games and are no longer in...

Packers to attack Cards' struggling offense

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- It was less than a month ago that the Packers were 2-3 and preparing to fly into Houston to face an undefeated Texans team. It was a grim situation for a team that wasn't far removed from winning 19 consecutive games over a span of nearly an entire calendar year. But with victories over the Texans, Rams and Jaguars, Green Bay had quickly turned its season around...

Packers' aides confident despite injuries

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The injuries continued piling up, but the Packers (6-3) were able to beat the Arizona Cardinals for their fourth consecutive victory Sunday. The rushing offense had a good day, the defense made adjustments to playing without Clay Matthews for most of the second half and Randall Cobb continued showing the type of threat that he is.Defensive coordinator Dom Capers...

Packers vs. Cardinals: who wants it more?

Today's game at Lambeau Field between the Green Bay Packers and the Arizona Cardinals is one of those games which could very well be a trap game of sorts for the Packers. The team comes off a lackluster win against the hapless Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday; favored by 15 points, they managed to win 24-15 in a game that always seemed much closer that that.Today, the Packers...

Injuries couldn't derail Packers on Sunday

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- When this game was over, the Packers were without 11 total starters: five on offense, six on defense. That's half of their starters. But a greatly improved running game, a couple big plays in key moments and a resilient effort by a lot of backup players put Green Bay over the top. Handing out grades following the Packers' 31-17 win over the Arizona Cardinals...

Green Bay Packers look to give the Cardinals their fifth straight loss

Winners of three straight, the Green Bay Packers welcome in the Arizona Cardinals who appear on the opposite side of the spectrum with four straight losses. The Cardinals (4-4) are the first team since the 2002 Oakland Raiders to start the year 4-0 and lose their next four games. Green Bay has a chance to make sure the birds from the desert don’t follow the same path as that Raiders...

The injury-riddled Packers beat the Cardinals for their fourth straight win

Injuries are as common to football as cheese is to Wisconsin, but the plague that has hit Green Bay is way beyond what any normal team goes through. After beating the Arizona Cardinals by the score of 31-17, the Packers (6-3) are legitimately without 11 starting players. New injuries to WR Jordy Nelson, OL Bryan Bulaga and LB/DE Clay Matthews only adds salt to an open wound as the...
