Before the season began, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin made it clear that he wants a new contract..  At the time the Vikings were hesitant to pay him, but after the way he’s played this season, he’s not going anywhere. ESPN’s Adam Schefter indicated in his weekly blog post that there’s no way the Vikings won’t give Harvin with a new deal. “Harvin has been so good and so strong that until the Vikings’ recent swoon, he was an MVP candidate. There’s no way Minnesota will let him leave now. Even if the Vikings can’t get a long-term deal done with him — and I bet they can and will — they always have their franchise tag available. Harvin knows he’s not going anywhere,” wrote Schefter. Next season will be the final year of Harvin rookie contract and I would think the Vikings will give him an extension before it runs out.   var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })(); sr_adspace_id = 1000005525107; sr_adspace_width = 300; sr_adspace_height = 250; sr_ad_new_window = true; sr_adspace_type = "graphic";

Harvin Hurting, Peterson Primed

When it comes to the Minnesota Vikings offense, they have two objectives: get the ball to Adrian Peterson or get the ball to Percy Harvin. With the latter being deemed “extremely doubtful” for Sunday’s showdown with the Lions, Peterson figures to see a full workload, and then some. Christian Ponder has struggled mightily of late, and the subtraction of his top threat isn...
