At some point early during Thursday’s preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals look over at Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano and you’ll likely see a player wearing the No. 46 jersey standing near him. It’ll be like that in the second third and fourth quarter too. Linebacker Daniel Adongo stood close to Pagano in the first three preseason games. The rookie likes to stand near his coach so he can learn and also be ready in case he gets called into the game. The coaching staff hasn’t called his name yet and they likely won’t call on Adongo against the Bengals. “I don’t think we’re ready to throw him out there yet” Pagano said. “I’m just going to protect Daniel from himself. I’m not worried about him giving effort. I’m not worried about him knowing what to do. I’m just worried about the speed of the game and our opponent and something happening to him.” Adongo will likely be cut once the Colts trim their roster to the league-mandatory 53 players by 6 p.m. on Sat

Andrew Luck visits high school player who suffered serious injury in hospital (photo)

High school sophomore Steven Bailey plays football for the Edinburgh High School (Ind.) football team. A relatively innocuous and seemingly rudimentary play during a game last Friday nearly had tragic consequences for the young man. Bailey was tackled just before halftime. Everything seemed relatively fine afterward until the 15-year-old collapsed during halftime. Ambulances apparently...

5 things we learned: Indianapolis Colts vs. Cleveland Browns

1. Andrew Luck should thrive in this offense Granted we only saw a very small sample, if any, of new offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton’s playbook, but what we saw seems to suit Luck quite well. The short throws are getting him in a rhythm and building his confidence. Luck should be exponentially more accurate this season because of Hamilton’s marker to marker offense and the...

Colts cut 10 players and place Lawrence Sidbury on IR

According to a team's press release, the Indianapolis Colts have released eleven players on Sunday and placed outside linebacker Lawrence Sidbury on injured reserve. The NFL requires all teams to be down to 75 players on their roster, and with the roster moves over the weekend, the Colts are now down to 78 players on their roster. This means they will need to release three more...

Can Andrew Luck handle the pressure?

Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts is no longer a rookie, one would think the pressure would subside. However, the pressure for Andrew Luck may never dissipate. Replacing Peyton Manning and the legacy left behind, the Indianapolis Colts second year star still has his work cut out for him. In fact, one could say expectations are even larger after the Colts miraculously made...

Colts hoping retro look brings Super Bowl title

Indianapolis is going retro. After making a nine-game improvement and reaching the playoffs with rookie quarterback Andrew Luck in charge, new offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton has installed a power-running game with double-tight end formations, and coach Chuck Pagano got the pieces he wanted to make Indy's 3-4 defense look more like the defense he had in Baltimore. The Ravens...

A routine hit taken during a football game in Indianapolis has left fifteen-year-old Steven Bailey at Riley Hospital recovering from serious injuries. Preseason finale still meaningful for Indy players

Delano Howell and Caesar Raeford are preparing for the biggest game of their professional lives. Play well Thursday night at Cincinnati, and they could end up making Indianapolis' 53-man roster. Play poorly, and their careers could end Friday. It's a risky proposition in a league where more than 700 players will be cut this weekend. Howell and Rayford have tried to convince...

Colts Fall to Bengals; Lose 27-10

The Indianapolis Colts didn't play many starters, and they were easily beaten by the Cincinnati Bengals.   It wasn't a good game for the Colts. I guess that's what happens when Andrew Luck and the key starters don't play. Matt Hasselbeck got the start for the game. He led them off pretty well but failed to get more than 3 on the board. His performance was decent...

Indianapolis will bid to host the Super Bowl in 2018

When the Super Bowl and all that comes with it invaded Indianapolis two years ago we wondered exactly how the first-time host would fare in putting together one of this country's biggest events. In the end most of my media buddies and I believed that Indy built a wonderful week (with mild weather that was much warmer than it had been the February before while we were in Dallas...
