Adrian Peterson entered Sunday’s showdown against the St. Louis Rams with a whopping 1,600 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground on 265 carries (6.0 YPC) through 13 games in 2012.  He also needed just 506 yards in the final three weeks of the season to set the NFL’s single-season rushing record. Peterson earned more than 40 percent of that amount in four quarters at Edward Jones Dome, rushing for 212 yards in the Minnesota Vikings’ 36-22 win on the road over the Rams.  With two weeks left, he’s already rushed for a career-best 1,812 yards in 2012 and needs just 294 yards to top Eric Dickerson’s 1984 rushing record of 2,105 yards in a single-season.
