Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is extremely confident now a days, and why shouldn’t he be. He’s made a magical return from blowing out his knee, and he was 9 yards short of the single season rushing record.
Peterson is in Hawaii having a ball, and when the question of winning the NFL MVP comes up, he’s extremely confident he’ll win it according to CBSSports.com, via the Denver Post.
“I’m going to win it, I will get it,” he said Saturday at Aloha Stadium, site of Sunday’s Pro Bowl, according to the Denver Post’s Mark Kiszla.
Peterson who will go toe to toe with Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, and Manning has had fun riling Peterson up.
“Everyone should play like Adrian Peterson,” Manning reportedly said. “The guy does everything full speed. The Pro Bowl. Promoting himself for MVP.”
Peterson of course laughed off the playful Manning.
“I thought it was funny, man,” Peterson said. “Manning is always pulling somebody’s chain. This time, he got me. That’s just the way he is. And I have a ton of respect for him.”
I guess one will win Comeback Player of the Year, and one will MVP. Both are impressive, but only one takes the cake.
BEST OF MAXIM
Minnesota Vikings running back and social media star Adrian Peterson had an amazing regular season coming 9 yards short of breaking the record for most rushing yards in a season. Peterson is also having a tremendous offseason as he is one of the stars of ‘THE NFL : A Bad Lip Reading”. The YouTube video...Read the Rest...
Hurray, everyone! The NFL Pro Bowl is here! That means we ... Get to ... Uh, crap, what does this mean ... We get to watch practice, pretty much? Dudes playing touch football? Rich people enjoying extravagance on a tropical island in the sunshine while we freeze our testicles to our Adam's Apples? I'm trying to remember why this is even a thing at all.
Oh, right. Cheerleaders...
True story. Adrian Peterson loves orange peanuts, especially when they are for him. Then, he accepts you.
If any of that is confusing, then you need to watch the video after the jump - in it's entirety - and then this picture will become Exhibit A in why Adrian Peterson is the coolest sack of flesh and bones to ever grace the turf.
According to Ben Goessling of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Vikings RB Adrian Peterson plans on making a push for them to keep free agent RT Phil Loadholt the team next season.
“He’s just been improving each year,” said Peterson of Loadholt. “I’m going to keep my arms around him this offseason as well, just to make sure he’s staying on top of this game.”
The Minnesota Vikings surprised the NFL world this year by reaching the playoffs. The Vikings did so however on the legs of Adrian Peterson, not on the arm of QB Christian Ponder. The quarterback play in Minnesota heads into the 2013 season with several question marks surrounding the position. One question surrounding the position next year might be, who will be the backup to Christian...
HONOLULU -- Shortly before halftime Sunday Kyle Rudolph cradled a lofted touchdown pass to the corner of the end zone.
A couple hours later, Rudolph got his hands on a Pro Bowl MVP trophy.
Rudolph highlighted the Minnesota Vikings contingent's night at the NFL's Pro Bowl Sunday, as he hauled in five receptions for 122 yards and one score to earn the game's top individual...
Rule #1 of the internet: Never, ever, trust it or anyone hanging out on it. Especially those participating in message boards and chats. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell missed this memo, as Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe clowned on him in a Reddit discussion thread. Admit, you’ve been RickRoll’d. If you deny it, you probably won’t admit to getting your butt whooped at least...
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. While the coaching carousel has been spinning feverishly in the NFL this month, there has been little news with the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff.
For a team that has seen its share of turnover in recent years, the silence is probably being enjoyed. Other than interviews for special teams coordinator Mike Priefer and Mike Singletary, the co-linebackers coach...
Stiff competition doesn’t happen too often at the Pro Bowl. But this year, with the two main contenders for the MVP award suiting up for opposite sides, the game has extra intrigue.
Adrian Peterson and Peyton Manning both had solid years after coming back from injuries that appeared likely to limit — if not end — their careers. They’re now the frontrunners for the league...
Tight end Kyle Rudolph highlighted a strong Vikings performance at the Pro Bowl. Rudolph had five catches for 122 yards and touchdown to win the MVP award.
This time next week, we’ll know who won the Super Bowl, and we can rightfully turn our attention to Kentucky Derby prep.
So the Pro Bowl was a thing that actually happened yesterday.
This may have been the worst game ever. Like a middle school game, actually.
One other note on the Pro Bowl. Kyle Rudolph won the Pro Bowl MVP, which was the trophy the Vikings were going for this...

In continuing the series that began yesterday, it’s time to discuss all of the end of the season awards that will be named soon and discussing who should and eventually who will take the honors.
