It seems just about nothing or no one can slow down Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson on the football field. Well, except for maybe a plate full of seafood. The 2012 league MVP recently opened up to USA TODAY Sports about a scary incident during training camp last summer which sent him into shock after eating some shrimp."I thought I was Superman until I experienced that life-changing anaphylactic shock,'' Peterson said. "I was eating lunch and gobbled down a couple of bowls of gumbo."Then, 15 minutes later, I'm in my dorm room resting up. My eyes started itching and my throat was swelling up."I could barely breathe.''At this point, Peterson had the presence of mind to call Vikings trainer Eric Sugerman and request the help that he knew he so desperately needed.Sugerman raced to Peterson's aide and injected the star player with an EpiPen which enabled Peterson to breathe better as the two rushed to a nearby hospital.Peterson was treated and then sent back on his way with a new appreciation for how serious his allergy condition was. Peterson has since teamed up with the maker of the Epi Pen that saved him and now serves as a spokesman for the company.Peterson said he now carries two EpiPens with him at all times just in case."It's a serious situation and it's pretty common across the world,'' Peterson said. "A lot of people can learn from my scare. Seafood was always my favorite food. I mean fried lobster? Come on."Once I found out shrimp, scallops and lobster were my allergic triggers, I had to change my diet.''
