According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has elected to undergo offseason groin surgery. He has been considering surgery for the past week and made the decision after receiving multiple medical opinions. This surgery will not cause him to miss too much time, and it is expected that he will be 100% ready to go for training camp. Peterson started this past season off a little bit slow, but he got things going as the season went along. He carried the football 279 times for a total of 1,266 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Vikings will likely draft or sign a new starting quarterback this offseason, so Adrian Peterson will once again be a workhorse to help the new guy get used to the Vikings. Those stats were registered despite Peterson missing two games due to injury. All that being said, there is still a lot of good football left to be played by Peterson. There have been a lot of rumors since mid-season that the Vikings could look to move Peterson this offseason, but that will not be the case. The Vikings are very excited about the new start that they will be getting under new head coach Mike Zimmer, and Peterson will have a new offensive coordinator in Norv Turner as well. Overall, this isn’t big news in the football world, but because it’s Adrian Peterson it’s still noteworthy. There likely won’t be any other news to come from this news barring a setback in rehab, so Vikings fans can breathe easy.   The post Adrian Peterson to undergo groin surgery appeared first on Sports Glory.
