The Baltimore Ravens, leaders of the AFC North with a 5-1 record, have already begun to look over their shoulders, metaphorically speaking.Injuries to linebacker Ray Lewis and defensive tackle Haloti Ngata have started to raise questions whether an aging Baltimore defense can continue to perform at a high level for the remainder of the season.Fans hopeful that linebacker Terrell Suggs' return would give the unit a shot in the arm will have to wait another week, as he has been downgraded to questionable for Sunday’s game against Houston. The fate of the Ravens’ playoff hopes this season may rest on the arm of Joe Flacco.Conversely, the Cincinnati Bengals’ playoff hopes may rest on their matchup this Sunday, when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers for the first time in 2012. The Bengals, 1-2 after last week’s loss to the Cleveland Browns, can ill afford to go 1-3 in the division. The Steelers, coming off a huge 17-16 win against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6, have owned the Benga...
BEST OF MAXIM
NEVER SAY NEVER
Ravens defensive lineman Haloti Ngata says he spoke with Ray Lewis and the 37-year-old said he has not played his last game, despite suffering a season-ending injury.
By now the entire football universe has heard that Baltimore Ravens Middle Linebacker Ray Lewis is out for the season with a torn triceps muscle. The injury will bring to an early end Lewis’ 17th NFL season and will be the future Hall of Famer’s 3rd trip to the Injured Reserve list in his career. While many in the sports world are speculating on whether this injury will end the...
NFL veteran Ray Lewis suffered a torn triceps Sunday that put him on the Baltimore Ravens' injured reserve list leaving fans wondering if he would ever return.Ravens coach John Harbaugh gave fans some hope when he announced Lewis would be placed on injured reserve with the "designated to return" tag."I have no idea, we have no idea, whether that timeframe has anything...
Prior to this past week, the Baltimore Ravens were one of the more healthier teams in football, but that luck ran out last Sunday as the Ravens lost CB Lardarius Webb and LB Ray Lewis to season ending injuries. Baltimore's injury report yesterday had some names on it that have not been there all season.
First we will begin with yesterday's injury report:
With Ray Lewis possibly gone for the rest of the season, the Baltimore Ravens will have to hope that linebacker Terrell Suggs will be able to fill in for his absence.
Suggs hasn't played a game this season due to a tore Achilles tendon but it believed that he might play against the Houston Texans later today.
During the week, Suggs decided to play a prank on Ravens reporter...
When the schedule was released way back in April, I, along with quite a few others, circled this game on the schedule as a tough one for the Ravens. That was assuming good health for Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Ed Reed and Haloti Ngata among others. Now, this game could be a blowout.
Fortunately for the Ravens, I don’t think they will get blown out. Joe Flacco and the offense play...
It’s time for Part II of my Week 7 Fantasy Football Preview and I’ll continue to lead you through the darkness that is the Curse of the Bye Week. Remember: Falcons, Broncos, Chiefs, Dolphins, Eagles, and Chargers have the weekend off. Baltimore Ravens at Houston Texans With Ladarius Webb and Ray Lewis out for the [...]
With Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb out for the season, the Ravens may be getting desperate on defense.
NFL.com is reporting that Terrell Suggs will play on Sunday against the Texans after being activated from the physically unable to perform list.
Suggs tore his right achilles tendon in May. Typical recovery time for a similar injury can be up to 11 months.
Even though there are a fewer amount of games this week, with six teams on a bye week including the only undefeated team left in the NFL in the Atlanta Falcons, there are still some quality matchups.
Game of the Week
When two 5-1 teams get together, it is usually a sign that they will have a game. This week the two 5-1 teams that are playing each other are the Houston Texans will...
Ravens @ TexansSunday – 10/21/20121:00 PM The Baltimore Ravens travel to the city of Houston to battle the Texans in a match-up of the top two teams in the AFC this Sunday at 1:00pm. The Ravens and Texans both stand alone atop the AFC standings with 5-1 records. Baltimore is coming off a 31-29 victory over the Cowboys last week while the Texans are coming off their first loss...
With ten games remaining, have the 3-3 Patriots played themselves out of a bye-week, or do they still have a real chance at catching the 5-1 Ravens or Texans for one of the AFC's top two spots?
Jason: Normally I'd be concerned, but both the Texans and the Ravens suffered ball-busting injuries last week. I'm not even sure if Baltimore will win their division without...
In a game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens, starting Kansas City quarterback, Matt Cassel, took a hit from Baltimore’s Haloti Ngata that caused Cassel to leave the field and head to the locker room early.
As in most cases when players are taken off the field, the fans are anything but quiet in letting their support be heard for the injured athlete. In this...
