With their win last night against the New York Jets, the Houston Texans moved to 5-0. They're now two and a half games in front of the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC South. If not for the Colts' improbable comeback against the Packers Sunday, Houston would enjoy a nearly invincible three and a half game advantage on the rest of the division. It's not likely that the Colts, Jags or Titans will overtake Houston for the division crown. The only question that remains is if anyone else in the AFC can hang with Houston. They enjoy a one game lead for the AFC's best record over the Baltimore Ravens and can put some distance between them when they host Baltimore in two weeks. Looking at Houston's remaining schedule, that game and road trips to Chicago and New England would appear to be the only remaining games where they won't be prohibitive favorites. The score was closer than many thought it would be, but the Texans used their patented formula of ball control offense and stifling defense to beat down the Jets 23-17 last night. Arian Foster did his usual thing on the ground, amassing 152 yards on 29 carries. Matt Schaub was uncharacteristically inaccurate, only completing 50 per cent of his passes for 209 yards, a TD and an interception. The Texans defense, however, harassed Mark Sanchez all night, forcing him into two picks and sacking him three times. Houston will come home Sunday to host the desperate Green Bay Packers. The Tennessee Titans traveled to Minnesota and really never competed, falling behind 23-0 to the Vikings before finally denting the scoreboard in the third quarter. Matt Hasselbeck, filling in for the injured Jake Locker, was solid, but couldn't carry the load against the Vikings defense. Once again, the Titans failed to produce any semblance of a running game, averaging only 2.7 yards per carry. Chris Johnson continued to disappoint, picking up only 24 yards on the ground. You have to wonder how much longer the Titans will stick with Johnson as their featured back. The Vikings, meanwhile, gashed the Titans' defense for 175 yards on the ground, Adrian Peterson leading the way with 88 yards on 17 carries. Christian Ponder continues to impress as he completed 70 per cent of his passes. He did throw two picks, but also hooked up on a pair of scoring strikes. The 1-4 Titans host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night. The Jacksonville Jaguars were thoroughly embarrassed at home by the Chicago Bears, 41-3. The Jags defense kept them in the game in the first half and the Jags went into the locker room tied at three. The second half, however, was all Chicago. Blaine Gabbert threw a pair of pick-sixes and Jay Cutler sliced and diced the Jacksonville secondary for a pair of second half scores. Matt Forte also had his way on the ground, racking up 107 yards on 22 carries. Jacksonville couldn't find an answer for Brandon Marshall who caught 12 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown. Maurice Jones-Drew picked up 56 yards, but was really a non-factor as the Bears outgained the Jags 501-189. Jacksonville gets the week off to lick their wounds before heading out for consecutive road games at Oakland and Green Bay. Be sure to check out other great articles at Sports Media 101.

Top 10 Texans - Jets Takeaways

Owen Daniels needs TD celebration help10) If you detect a wee bit of bitter in these, it has nothing to do with the Texans blowing any number of chances in covering the 8 point line that would have paid off my 3-team parley, costing me $70 that I really could have freaking used, you stinking bums, you unrepentant pieces of toe jam, you collusive bags of pus...9) Gary Kubiak managed...

Arian Fosters The People, Pumps Up The Fantasy Kicks

Normally I like to feature someone who surprised or rose above the crowd when they normally don’t.  However, no one really did anything to dominate the ball anything like what Arian Foster did.  On 30 touches, Foster gave his fantasy owners nearly 170 total yards to go with his TD plunge.  I should know, I played against his owner with a 20 point lead.  It always hurts when...
