Thanks to losses by the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars, the Indianapolis Colts gained in the AFC South Standings despite not playing this week. The Colts 1-2 record puts them a half game ahead of the Titans and Jags, but already two and a half games behind the Houston Texans, the AFC's lone remaining undefeated team.

The Titans and Texans had their initial divisional clash in Houston with the Texans easily prevailing 38-14. The Titans were never competitive in the game, losing starting quarterback Jake Locker in the first quarter and falling behind by two touchdowns. Matt Hasselbeck filled in ably, throwing two touchdowns but was also picked twice. Chris Johnson finally got on track rushing, picking up 156 yards, but the yardage was inconsequential to the outcome.

Matt Schaub continued his steady quarterbacking for the Texans, again completing over 70 per cent of his passes and throwing two scoring strikes while not turning the ball over. Surprisingly, the Texans were held under 100 yards rushing for the first time this season, but still won comfortably. That was mainly due to the Texans shooting themselves in their collective foot with seven penalties and three turnovers.

Tennessee will stay on the road, heading to face the 3-1 Minnesota Vikings this week while the Texans will make their first prime time appearance of the season on the road against the struggling New York Jets.

Jacksonville led Cincinnati briefly 7-3 early in the second quarter, but the Bengals outscored the homestanding Jags 24-3 the rest of the way to take away a 27-10 win. The Bengals defense did a number on Maurice Jones-Drew, holding him to only 38 yards on 13 carries. They also sacked Blaine Gabbert six times and intercepted him once. The Jags defense also struggles, surrendering 382 total yards. Two Cincinnati turnovers kept the score from being even more lopsided. It won't get any easier for the Jags this week as they host the Chicago Bears in Jacksonville.
