During the week, the Patriots probably prepared differently on offense knowing how good the 49ers defense is. A lot of attention must have been put on Aldon Smith and there's no doubt why. He has a chance to break Michael Strahan's record for sacks in a season, but for the most part he was non-existent on Sunday night.Unfortunately for Smith, but fortunately for the Patriots, he didn't record a sack. Smith did have an interception, but wasn't a force at all, making only ONE tackle. He has led the league in sacks for the majority of the season, but is now tied with the Texan's JJ Watt, who sacked Andrew Luck 3 times on Sunday. Although Alson Smith didn't have a defensive-player-of-the-year type game, the fantastic 49er's defense came up big, especially in the first half and towards the end of the game. They looked like the hard-hitting defense New Englander's feared, forcing Brady into 2 interceptions(one not his fault), and of course the fumbles from ...

Adorable little girl raps about Colin Kaepernick

Pretty sure David Whitley’s nightmare has been realized when the emergence of Colin Kaepernick has inspired little blonde, white girls to cover their arms in fake tats and spew hippity hop on YouTube videos. I must say, her delivery is a bit on the slow side, but the fact that she has perfect little kid pronunciation of words (“rise” is “wise”, “repeat” is “weepeat”...

49ers put 5-0 prime-time mark on line at Seattle

Linebacker Aldon Smith loves playing in prime time. It takes him back to how he spent so many Friday nights in high school under the lights. San Francisco teammate Anthony Dixon and others become similarly nostalgic when they take the field these days with the football spotlight on them. And the 49ers (10-3-1) sure seem to thrive on the NFL's big stage, going 5-0 this season...

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Somehow, the San Francisco 49ers managed to respond Sunday, and they did it quickly. Having blown a 31-3, third-quarter lead as the New England Patriots scored 28 points in less than 19 minutes, San Francisco needed just two plays, a kickoff and one play from scrimmage, to retake control en route to a wild 41-34 victory on a cold, rainy night at Gillette Stadium...

Aaron Rodgers Calls Alex Smith ‘a Great Quarterback,’ Says He Deserves to Play for Team That Appreciates Him

When Aaron Rodgers was drafted in 2005, it was 23 spots behind the No. 1 pick, Alex Smith, who was picked by Rodgers’ hometown 49ers. Instead of getting a chance to start and being recognized for his ability, Rodgers took the clipboard behind Brett Favre, while Smith was given the run of the San Francisco offense in his first season. Within a few years, though, the storylines changed...

Aldon Smith’s Sack Record Deserves Attention, But J.J. Watt, Von Miller More Deserving of Defensive Player of Year

The 2012 NFL season has been just as much about young pass rushers as it has been about rookie quarterbacks. While Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III and Russell Wilson are battling it out for offensive rookie of the year honors, second-year defenders Von Miller, Aldon Smith and J.J. Watt are each fighting for defensive player of the year. With three games to go, all three players are...
