Whether you are playing professional football or touch football with your family, there is always a risk of getting injured. Injuries happen in all sports and as many lifelong fans have seen, one injury can sometimes plague an entire team. While football is a team sport, most teams usually have one or two players that they cannot afford to lose. This is especially true for the teams in the NFC West division as they look to free themselves from the title of the worst division in football. After a breakout performance from the San Francisco 49ers in 2011, some of the stars from this division have now been recognized. This article will look two players that each NFC West team can ill afford to lose in 2012. Arizona Cardinals Offense: Larry Fitzgerald If this isn’t the most obvious choice in the whole division, then I don’t know who is. Larry Fitzgerald has developed into one of the best players in football, proving time and time again that no matter whom the quarterback is he wi...

Harbaugh denies pursuing Peyton

Jim Harbaugh spoke to the media to try and change their minds. He wanted to emphasize that the 49ers never pursued Peyton Manning.

Stop Lying To Me Jim Harbaugh, I’m Not Stupid

Jim Harbaugh came out today and just flat out lied, saying that the 49ers had Alex Smith in their plans all along. He claimed that they were never really trying to replace him with Peyton Manning, just exploring their options. Hm. I can’t say I believe any of that. In fact, I would go so far as to say that I’m 100 percent sure that every bit of what Jim Harbaugh said on this...

49ers’ Vernon Davis praises Randy Moss

Randy Moss was out of the league last year and the year before bounced around 3 teams, catching 28 balls for 393 yards and 5 touchdowns and barely playing down the stretch with the Tennessee Titans. However, the 49ers took a flier on him, needing a deep threat, hoping the now 35 year old Moss had something left in the tank. According to teammate Vernon Davis, Moss looks like the...

Harbaugh insists Smith was 49ers' man all along

San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh insists the 49ers planned to have Alex Smith as their quarterback even while they examined the possibility of signing then-free agent Peyton Manning. Harbaugh ended his weekly meeting with reporters on Wednesday by addressing what he says is the ''erroneous perception that we were flirting with Peyton Manning.'' Harbaugh called the...

Jim Harbaugh’s rant of lies

In a recent interview with the 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, Harbaugh had some interesting comments when the subject of the niners’ pursuing former free agent Peyton Manning came up. “It’s an erroneous perception that we were flirting with Peyton Manning,” Harbaugh said. “I keep hearing that over and over again. It’s silly, and it’s untrue. It’s phony. Even the...

Jim Harbaugh’s lie could tarnish his reputation with his players

I’ve heard coaches stretch the truth, avoid questions they don’t want to answer and even “interpret” a question differently in order to give the response they want but it always bothers me when a coach just flat out lies to the media.San Francisco 49ers’ head coach Jim Harbaugh addressed what he called an “erroneous perception that we were flirting with Peyton Manning...

Jim Harbaugh denies pursuing Peyton Manning ‘it’s phony, erroneous’

It’s confirmed: Jim Harbaugh could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves. Or at least he’d try to if it was in the best interest of his football team. The 49ers coach spoke to the media on Wednesday and attempted to spin the reports that said the team pursued Peyton Manning in March. “There’s a perception out there, and it’s an erroneous perception, that...

Franchise Defender: Is 49ers FS Dashon Goldson Deserving of a Long-Term Deal in San Francisco?

We are in the dog days of the NFL offseason, Organized Team Activities (OTAs), and there are only three kinds of personnel news at this time of the year: glowing scouting reports from coaches wearing rose-colored glasses (i.e., everything you’ve heard so far about San Francisco 49ers WR Randy Moss), shadowy injury absences, and financial conflicts.  In other words, reports about...

So Jim Harbaugh Is Full Of It

Judging from his recent defensive comments about Cam Newton, Alex Smith has a bit of a thing about feeling unappreciated. It seems to be a prevailing theme for quarterbacks on Harbaugh-coached teams that lose in conference championship games. Lots of specificity there. Anyway, Jim Harbaugh wants everyone to know that Alex was his big champ all along, even though the Niners were...

Harbaugh says 49ers were not 'pursuing' Peyton Manning

Jim Harbaugh wants to be clear: Despite working out Peyton Manning, the San Francisco 49ers always wanted quarterback Alex Smith. The 49ers head coach veered into an unprovoked discussion about Manning and Smith at the end of his session with reporters Wednesday. "Oh one other thing: There's a perception out there and it's an erroneous perception that we were flirting...

Jim Harbaugh is lying…Still, Alex Smith is now better than Peyton Manning

San Francisco head coach Jim Harbaugh claimed Wednesday afternoon that the 49ers never considered pursuing future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning when he was a free agent this winter. Prior to signing a five-year contract worth $96 million with … Continue reading →

49ers’ Dashon Goldson wants a deal similar to Eric Weddle

The 49ers franchise tagged Dashon Goldson earlier this offseason, but so far he has skipped all of the 49ers’ voluntary OTAs and reports say he has no plans to come to the Bay Area anytime soon, which sounds like a potential holdout. Now reports, according to CSN Bay Area, say exactly how much Goldson is looking for long term. Goldson reportedly is seeking a deal similar to the...

San Francisco 49ers Star Punter Will Boot For Six Extended Seasons

Photo Credit: The San Francisco 49ers announced last Wednesday they have signed punter Andy Lee to a six-year contract extension through the 2018 season. San Francisco originally selected Lee in the sixth round of the 2004 NFL Draft with the 188th overall pick. The three-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro (6-2, 180) established himself as one of the NFL’s most productive...

The San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions Going in Two Different Directions Since Thier Meeting in 2011

The most recent arrest of Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley emphasizes how two very talented NFL franchises have moved in opposite directions since their regular season meeting in 2011. One, the San Francisco 49ers, moving in a positive direction; beefing up their offense and keeping their defense in tact, with hopes of fighting for a championship. And two, the Detroit...
