Alfonzo Dennard was arrested and cited Thursday for driving under the influence of alcohol but his side says he did not fail a sobriety test. Lincoln Police Department spokesperson Katie Flood told NFL.com that the officers who pulled Dennard over had "probable cause" to believe he was under the influence of alcohol. Here's where it gets tricky: Dennard technically did not "fail" the sobriety test even though he was arrested. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport(@RapSheet) said Dennard attempted to blow for the Breathalyzer at least twice, and the numbers that registered were below the legal limit, but the officer told him that he did not "blow hard enough." Dennard was not asked to take a blood test but was also cited by the police for refusing to take a chemical test. In cases like these I try not to take sides, especially with a guy like Dennard who was recenty sentenced to 30 days in jail and 24 months probation. But, in this specific incident with the...

Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard is in a difficult situation with the law now that Nebraska prosecutors have alleged he violated the terms of his probation. The Lancaster County attorney filed a motion claiming Dennard violated his probation last week when he was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and cited for refusing a breathalyzer test and straddling the...

Patriots RB Shane Vereen: Aaron Hernandez arrest ‘definitely’ surprising

Aaron Hernandez was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and five other gun-related charges for the shooting death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd last month. As soon as Hernandez was implicated in the murder, the New England Patriots began distancing themselves from the tight end. They cut him the morning he was arrested. Though the team [...]

Aaron Hernandez: answering the deep, thought-provoking questions

In the wake of the Aaron Hernandez murder case, I have a lot of questions. That need answers. Such as 1.) Why have the New England Patriots continued to sign/draft malcontents and players with character issues? 2.) Why didn’t they do a better job vetting Aaron Hernandez? Or did they see the warning signs and just ignore them? 3.) What does The Patriot Way really mean today? Hasn’t...

Rob Gronkowski Threatens To Leave Interview Over Hernandez Questions (Video)

Aaron Hernandez and his murder charge is a subject that is taboo in the NFL and especially Foxboro, but it’s also the subject that most people want to know about. Well, Rob Gronkowski is haven’t nothing to do with it. When pressed to speak about his former teammate Gronk emphatically refused and when pressed even threatened to leave the interview. I understand his reluctance...

College move: Texans mark matchup with Patriots as 'homecoming game'

The Houston Texans didn't fare so well on' Monday Night Football' last year when they decided to come into Foxborough wearing lettermen jackets, so they're looking to exercise those demons in their at-home December 1st matchup with the New England Patriots, and they'll stick with a college theme, reports NFL.com.

After several complaints from visitors, a photo depicting alleged murderer Aaron Hernandez skipping into the end zone has been removed at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH, the Plain Dealer reports. The photo in question, from the New England Patriots game against the Green Bay Packers in 2010, was displayed as the winning image in a Hall of Fame photo contest. ...

Tom Brady told Tim Tebow Aaron Hernandez is ‘a lot to handle’ in 2011

When the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos faced each other toward the end of the 2011 season, reporters couldn’t wait to capture the postgame handshake between Tom Brady and Tim Tebow. Brady and Tebow are two of the most popular players in football, and Tebow had been defying the odds at that point by [...]

Fantasy Football 2013: Stevan Ridley's Numbers Will Soar

Stevan Ridley had good fantasy numbers in 2012. He wracked-up 1,263 yards rushing on his way to 12 touchdowns. His contribution in the passing game was minimal, but that isn't necessarily a knock on his ability or his future potential in this offense. While the Patriots may be considered a pass-first team, Ridley is not exactly an afterthought, despite having a little trouble...

Conan O’Brien zings Patriots during monologue

Late night talk show host Conan O’Brien took the opportunity to throw a zinger in the New England Patriots’ direction during one of his recent opening monologues. Conan was discussing a new DC Comic in which Superman kills someone, then jokes that the Patriots signed him afterwards – obviously a reference to the whole Aaron Hernandez murder saga. On a related note, Superman...

Over/Under: 2013 Tom Brady Touchdown Passes

Much has been made of the deterioration of the Patriot's offense over the course of this off-season. There's no arguing that Brady has significantly less weapons to work with in the passing game. So how significantly will this affect his numbers? OVER/UNDER: 30 Touchdowns (Regular Season) Prediction- Over (32 Touchdowns): The last season Brady failed to reach the 30...

Bill Belichick, Aaron Hernandez, Scott Pioli and what needs to change with the Patriots

2009. Probably the worst Patriot season in recent memory. Even 2008 wasn't as bad. At least in 2008 the team had an excuse for failing to meet expectations. There was no Tom Brady. After the shock of seeing Brady keeled over on the ground in the first game of that season wore off, it became a pretty entertaining year. Who thought we would be watching Matt Cassel defy the...

Carlos Ortiz labeled ‘rat’ in neighborhood for giving up Aaron Hernandez

Three weeks ago, Carlos Ortiz had a much different relationship with former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. The 27-year-old was not a star witness who may be providing investigators with enough information to put Hernandez away for life. Instead, he was a close friend. Ortiz hangs around on a street called Davis Drive [...]

The Patriots have enjoyed the most success of maybe any NFL team over the past decade-plus, and those wins have translated into dollars for the franchise.
