The Washington Redskins held a community event at Macy’s on Tuesday during which children got the opportunity to write letters to Santa Claus as a part of the department store’s “Believe” campaign. For every letter written to Santa at one of their stores, Macy’s is donating $1 to charity. As Sarah Kogod of D.C. Sports Bog pointed out, some of the Redskins players took the time to submit their Christmas lists as well. Tight end Fred Davis asked for some Power Rangers, Transformers, a Super Nintendo and a Redskins playoff berth. Fellow tight end Logan Paulsen asked Santa for world peace, a puppy, a playoff berth and a few other things. Alfred Morris, on the other hand, didn’t ask for anything. Instead, the undrafted running back asked the big man from the North Pole what he would like this Christmas. “I’m writing not to ask for a gift, but to ask you what you want for Christmas? You give every year and it’s your turn to receive, because it’s not always about receiving,” Morris wrote before signing his letter. Skeptics might be inclined to call this a PR stunt from Morris, and we might agree if he didn’t come across as one of the most genuinely humble players in the NFL. Have you seen the car he drives? Morris is on his way to become a star, but it seems like the way he got to this point has made him appreciate things more than the average athlete. Kudos to Alf for trying to set a good example for the children.
