On Super Bowl Sunday, Colin Kaepernick and Joe Flacco will become the 55th and 56th quarterbacks to start at the ultimate position in sports on the ultimate stage in all of American sports. History will tell on Sunday, and in years to come, the place Kaepernick and Flacco will have in history. Super Bowl 47 may prove to be the lone shot at glory or the springboard to a legendary career that ultimately winds up in Canton. But how do the previous 54 rank? Well, here is my list. With the circus of media day finally coming to a close, it’s time to get down to the truly important aspects of the Super Bowl — the bets.
Betting on whether Colin Kaepernick can lead the 49ers to their first Super Bowl win since 1994 or if Ray Lewis will finish his career on top isn’t nearly as satisfying as guessing correctly how many total rushing yards Ray Rice will...

As the NFL world sets to play it’s final game of the 2012 regular season this Sunday, some eyes are already looking ahead to the 2013 season and Super Bowl XLVIII. Next year, the Super Bowl will be played at the Meadowlands in New Jersey, marking the first time that the big game will be played in a northern climate in a non-dome stadium. I despise the idea, and it seems that Baltimore...
The Super Bowl and warm weather have become almost synonymous over the years. But next year the big game will be headed to the Big Apple, which also means cold weather.
Some players, coaches and fans aren’t likely to take too kindly to the early February weather they’ll face in the Northeast. One of this year’s Super Bowl quarterbacks is already letting his opinion be known...
Former 49ers great Steve Young might be the godfather of the mobile quarterback/passer era. Young was one of the first players in the league to be just as dangerous a passer as he was a runner.
Young played in the disciplined precision of the west coast offense, so he was never allotted the time to freestyle like current Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick does.
Young who was as...

During the San Francisco 49ers media day at Super Bowl XLVII we asked Patrick Willis, Navorro Bowman, and Carols Rogers if they would be able to shut down Colin Kaepernick if he played for a different team.
The knowledgeable fan is the happy fan. Here are a few things to keep in mind on Sunday as you [Beyoncé joke here].
The numbers are from the playoffs only. It makes for a small sample size (three games for the Ravens, and two for the 49ers), but it captures how the teams have performed most recently and in the playoff environment.
