Defensive End: Elvis Dumervil, Peanut Whitehead, DeWayne Whight, and Michael Josiah
My starters in this group have not only proven themselves in the college game, but the pro game as well. Elvis Dumervil with the Denver Broncos and DeWayne White with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions. Elvis is second in career sacks at UofL only to DeWayne White. Elvis also holds the NCAA’s single game sack record (against the necks down 64 east). Elvis was 1st Team All American in 2005 and DeWayne was 2nd Team All American in 2001. Peanut Whitehead was arguable the highest ranked defensive recruit coming in to Louisville in 2006. He was a 1st Team All American as a freshman and a pure stud. Had his career not been cut short by congenital spinal stepnosis, I am convinced he probably would’ve played himself into a possible early first rounder and potentially one of the best to suit up for the Card...
