The Titans’ biggest offseason loss was Cortland Finnegan, who signed a massive deal in St. Louis, but the Titans feel they have the in house talent to make up for the loss. Jason McCourty was an above average cornerback last year and will remain a starter this year. Meanwhile, Alterraun Verner is lining up as the starter opposite him in OTAs and, like Finnegan did before him, he’s moving inside to cover the slot in 3-cornerback sets. There was some talk earlier this month that Tommie Campbell could be the starter opposite McCourty after defensive coordinator Jerry Gray called him the team’s 2nd best cornerback. However, now it appears that Campbell will be left competing to play in 3-cornerback sets with rookie 4th round pick Coty Sensabaugh and veteran Ryan Mouton, who is coming off a major injury. Whoever wins that job will line up outside, while Verner moves inside. That’s Verner’s old role from 2011.

Tennessee Titans: It's Time For Jake Locker To Take Over

Down in Tennessee the competition is on to see who will be the Titans starting quarterback. Veteran Matt Hasselbeck and 2011 8th overall draft pick Jake Locker will be put to the test every week to see who is best to lead the Titans into the 2012 season. For me the answer is simple, start Locker. He was able to help lead the team after Hasselbeck got the Titans into losing situations...

Chris Johnson actively participating in Titans’ offseason program

Chris Johnson is coming off his worst and most disappointing season as a pro, rushing for just 1047 yards and 4 touchdowns on 262 carries last year after being made the 2nd highest paid running back in the league before the season. Johnson’s struggles last season were blamed on him failing in stay in shape during a holdout that lasted most of the offseason. The numbers back this...

Locating the hypothesis and the Titans' offensive line

Pardon the idiosyncratic reference, but I want to push back a little bit against Andrew's recent series on the offensive line. Mind you, I'm not disputing the numbers at all. They are what they are. There are a lot of numbers out there, though, and some of them don't necessarily mean what people sometimes claim they mean. The paradigmatic case is running back attempts...
