Image via PhilaPhans.com Andy Reid didn’t say that there is a chance that he would replace Mike Vick with Nick Foles. That’s not what he meant when he said, “We’ll evaluate as we go here.” You misinterpreted his words. It’s just semantics, man. That was Reid’s assertion when he met with the media on Wednesday, at least. According to Reid, he was unaware of how is comments were being taken until he was approached by the Eagles’ head of media relations, Derek Boyko. After that point  Reid met with Vick one-on-one to be sure there was no misunderstanding. Could Reid really think that opening the door on the possibility of benching Mike Vick would be anything other than the sports media equivalent of all hell breaking loose? This is how Reid explained it: “Well, it was the way that it was interpreted. That’s not what I had in mind. [Eagles director of football media services] Derek [Boyko] explained to me how it was interpreted and so, I’ve talked to Mike, made sure I mentioned it on my...

NFL Rumors: Marty Mornhinweg Allowing Michael Vick To Make Too Many Mistakes For Eagles?

The Philadelphia Eagles have been a pass-happy offense ever since Andy Reid took the head coaching job. When he aligns himself with offensive coaches such as Marty Mornhinweg, that philosophy will only get stronger and become more evident. It was the case with Donovan McNabb, and now it is the case with Michael Vick. The problem is, it just isn’t working. The Eagles have LeSean...

What Can Michael Vick Do To Improve His Play?

This is a guest post from Lucas McMillan of FootballSchedule.me. Through the first two games of the season, Michael Vick turned the ball over six times, yet the Eagles were 2-0. However, after the Eagles’ devastating Week 3 loss against the Arizona Cardinals, in which they turned the ball over three times, it’s clear that that kind of luck simply doesn’t last. The problem,...

Michael Vick’s Same Old Story

Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images One of the most documented stories of the past calendar year has been Michael Vick’s need to cut back on turnovers.  Another was the notion that he needed to regain his 2010 form. Everyone remembers Michael Vick in 2010.  He was dominant and borderline unstoppable.  He led the Eagles to the playoffs where they lost in a Wild Card game to the eventual...

Are the Eagles Poised to Bounce Back Against the Giants?

After two narrow victories in the first two weeks, the Eagles got a reality check in a 27-6 road loss to the Arizona Cardinals. It’s still very early in the season and there is still a lot of football to be played. There are still a lot of question marks about this team. Can Michael Vick improve upon his ball security? Will Andy Reid make changes in his play calling? Will Juan...

Turnover-Prone Eagles Face Giants Sunday Night

Turnover-Prone Eagles Face Giants Sunday Night By SBRForum.com After three weeks of this NFL regular season what do we make of the Philadelphia Eagles? Well, the words “turnover-prone” or even “over-rated” come to mind. Philly didn’t just get beat Sunday out in Arizona; the Eagles, and namely QB Michael Vick, got clobbered. The final score in points was 27-6; the final...

Book Reviews: Michael Vick’s ‘Finally Free’

A great book tells a great story, but a great story does not necessarily equal out to a great book. I’ve read plenty of autobiographies in my day where the stories were good, but when they were translated to book form, the book was underwhelming, disappointing and/or flat-out trash. However, there is none of that [...]The post Book Reviews: Michael Vick’s ‘Finally Free’ appeared...

Inconsistent Vick has job security in Philadelphia

Michael Vick punctuated his remarkable comeback story with a sensational performance against the New York Giants in Week 15 two years ago. Since then, Vick has been Mediocre Mike. The Philadelphia Eagles are just 9-9 in Vick's starts since he led them to an NFC East title by bringing them back from a 21-point deficit with 8:17 remaining to beat the Giants 38-31 on Dec. 19,...

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles NFL Week 4 Preview: Will The Real Eagles Show Up?

Michael Vick has been battered and beaten thus far in the season, and yet the media reacts as if the Eagles are 0-3! Philadelphia is still sitting pretty at 2-1, and Nick Foles is more than a capable backup behind Vick in case anything goes wrong. Despite the dangerous southpaw that is often considered an injured player waiting to happen, Vick and the Eagles have nothing to be depressed...

Eagles will have to contain Giants potent D Line

If the Eagles can’t contain the Giants D line, it will be a long day for Michael Vick on Sunday. Sunday night’s matchup with the New York Giants will be a huge game for the Philadelphia Eagles. There is huge difference between 3-1 and 2-2 in the NFL, and a loss in this game could really be a setback for the Eagles. This game will undoubtedly be won in the trenches. And specifically...

Buy Vick, sell Griffin III

Kendall: TE Martellus Bennett or Owen Daniels in Week 4? Given his proneness for bonehead-like behavior, I thought Bennett would be a disaster for the Giants. The theory was sound: yes, Eli Manning likes to utilize his tight ends, but if Jerry Jones, an owner who has seen his share of immature and imprudent conduct, thought the Texas A&M product was detrimental to his team...

Philadelphia Eagles week four fantasy preview

The Philadelphia Eagles are matched up with the division rival New York Giants this Sunday night in Philadelphia.  If you played any Eagles in last week's fantasy game, you probably were disappointed with the lackluster performance by the offense.   No touchdowns by any player as the Eagles only mustered two field goals.  The Eagles have been somewhat of an enigma this...
