Fired after 14 years with the Philadelphia Eagles in his first head coaching position, Andy Reid will take over for Romeo Crennel in Kansas City. The Chiefs finished the 2012 season 2-14, their worst season in franchise history. Andy Reid is a man of many words. He just never says anything significant. After 14 seasons, five NFC championship appearances and one loss in the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles, he’ll have a new market to dance around questions in front of. The Eagles fired Andy Reid from his position as head coach. It didn’t take long for him to find a new job, however. Only four days later he agreed in principle with the Kansas City Chiefs to become their new coach. A week after Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie was thanking Reid for his time with the team, Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt was introducing Big Red to the Kansas City media. Hunt actually said it was after the end of the preliminary meeting two days after Andy Reid was let go that the two parties had a feeling they would be working together. His body of work makes him desirable to any team missing just a few pieces. He took over the Eagles and had them in the playoffs after just one 5-11 season. The Chiefs were missing a true leader at the head coaching position, which they now have in Andy Reid, but are still lacking a quarterback. It’s unlikely that Reid will find one in the draft the way he did with Donovan McNabb out of Syracuse before his first season in Philadelphia. The Chiefs have the first overall pick in the 2013 draft but the two top quarterbacks – West Virginia’s Geno Smith and University of Southern California’s Matt Barkley – do not appear to be franchise-caliber quarterbacks. There’s also the possibility that Andy Reid signs Eagles quarterback Michael Vick. It’s likely the Eagles will release him before the 2013 season begins, otherwise they will be locked in for the final four years of the deal. Reid repeatedly dodged the questions about the quarterback position, only promising to “dig in” and get to know the guys already with Kansas City. There wasn’t much different about Reid’s first news conference in Kansas City compared to his last in Philadelphia: there weren’t many answers given and most have no idea what his next move will be. He already seems at home though, using one of his favorite slogans by saying everyone in the Chiefs’ organization can get better, including him. Andy Reid was an assistant coach in Green Bay before taking over as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1999. He went 1-4 in NFC championship games. NFL Draft 2013: Top 10 Potential Early Round Bust Picks

1) QB Geno Smith, West Virginia The knock on Geno Smith continues to be his size. He lacks the typical frame for a starting NFL quarterback. He’s a pocket passer and not a prototypical scrambler per se, which does translate well into Andy Reid’s style of offense. Also, this presents a huge problem when it comes to his ability to absorb hits and remain uninjured. Next, his throwing...

Eagles Hire Oregon Head Chip Kelly Video

Firing Andy Reid was only a good idea if the Eagles could find a better (more winning) coach.  Kelly had a 46-7 record at Oregon which is quite impressive.  Will it translate to the NFL?  Can he bring the Eagles back into a very competitive NFC East with the Giants, Cowboys and Redskins?  His Oregon offense was base on a highly mobile QB, can that be translated to the NFL?...
