The Kansas City Chiefs have the #1 pick in the NFL Draft a year too late for benefit.  Last year the Chiefs could have chosen between Andrew Luck, or Robert Griffin III, and been set at quarterback for the next 12 years. Instead the Chiefs have no sure-fire option at quarterback, and their best option might be left tackle Luke Joeckel of Texas A&M. Andy Reid was asked at the NFL Combine media session for coaches about possibly trading out of that spot, and according to Around The League, the Chiefs are open to it. “Listen, yeah, we’re going to evaluate everything,” Reid said. “We’re just not going to give it away. So, we’d have to see what people throw our way. It’s a pretty valuable pick, I’d say.” “Most of the questions have been asked about the quarterback position, but it’s important that we go through and evaluate everybody,” Reid said. “You don’t go for need, you go for who the best player is — or who you perceive the best player to be.” The Chiefs need a quarterback yes, but now the question is will be it Alex Smith or Nick Foles?  Can Reid take Joeckel and bank on a quarterback in the second round being as good as Geno Smith or Matt Barkley.
