It’s easy to overlook great players on mediocre teams, most of the time they just aren’t that good, it’s just they are the best of a bad bunch. That doesn’t pertain to Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, he's the real deal and Andy Reid knows it. Charles tore his ACL in 2011, but rebounded in 2012 for 1,509 yards rushing and 5 TD’s. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Charles in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft with the 73rd pick, and in 2010, Charles re-signed with the Chiefs reaching an agreement on a five-year, $32.5 million deal that includes $13 million guaranteed. Reid wants to continue to get dividends on that investment. “I think you can probably put him in any offense and he’s going to do a heck of a job. He’s a very good running back and there are probably a lot of coaches in this league that would like to have him. He’s a heck of a player. I’m not going to change that. I’m going to give him an opportunity to do his thing and do what he does best. I look forward to working with him,” Reid said, via Adam Teicher of kansascity.com.     var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});

Report: Chiefs most interested team in Alex Smith

According to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, a source told him that the Kansas City Chiefs seem like the team that is the most interested in acquiring 49ers quarterback Alex Smith. Another team that could decide to going with a veteran as their 2013 starter rather than a rookie are the Arizona Cardinals.  But I can’t imagine the 49ers trading Smith to the Card’s since they’re...

Andy Reid Says Kansas City Chiefs Are Open To Trading #1 Pick

The Kansas City Chiefs have the #1 pick in the NFL Draft a year too late for benefit.  Last year the Chiefs could have chosen between Andrew Luck, or Robert Griffin III, and been set at quarterback for the next 12 years. Instead the Chiefs have no sure-fire option at quarterback, and their best option might be left tackle Luke Joeckel of Texas A&M. Andy Reid was asked at the...

Five Inspirational Stories Of Hope For Matt Cassel

Let's face it people, Matt Cassel is stealing money. That's why the Kansas City Chiefs are trying to talk Cassel into taking a pay cut for the 2013 season. Stevie Wonder and Jose Feliciano can both see that Cassel is not living up to his six-year $63 million contract. Stevie and Jose could probably do a better job of reading coverages and studying film too.But with all...

Chiefs Pursuing 49ers’ Smith

It has been common knowledge that the Kansas City Chiefs have been on the market for a quarterback since before last season even ended. The combination of Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn was at best incompetent last year (they combined for just 2,937 yards and 8 touchdowns) and with new head coach Andy Reid now calling the shots, Kansas City is guaranteed to have a new signal caller...
