That target on the back of Mark Sanchez is growing by the day.
An anonymous Jets player told CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman that "80-90 percent" of the team feels Sanchez should be benched.
"Everyone on the team likes Mark personally but there's a general feeling among some of the players that maybe it's time to give someone else a chance," the unnamed player said.
This comes a day after Sanchez threw three interceptions in a practice that coach Rex Ryan deemed "unacceptable" and "disappointing." That's not to say rookie Geno Smith fared any better -- one interception and a handful of other miscues -- but it's to be expected from a first-year player who's adjusting to facing an NFL defense.
Sanchez is entering his fifth season and seems to have completely regressed. You usually don't take much out of a non-contact OTA session, but Sanchez, who's committed 52 turnovers over the past two seasons, no longer has the benefit of the doubt.
