Found December 12, 2011 on Defending the Star:
I was at the game last night. It was probably the most exciting game I have ever attended. And I have never walked out of a game as angry as I was last night.I'm not going to blame Tony Romo. All he did was put up 321 yards, 4 touchdowns, and lead his team to a 12 point lead late in the 4th quarter. Miles Austin says he lost the deep ball late in the game in the lights and I'm going to take him at his word. A completion there might have sealed the win but the Cowboys missed it.I blame the defense. Rob Ryan's crew was flat out awful pretty much from start to finish. It has become painfully obvious that the defense can't run the scheme that Ryan has tried to bring to Dallas. The pre-snap adjustments that are required with Ryan's defense are just too much for the players to handle. It is amazing how often the secondary completely misses assignments. The pass to Mario Manningham that went for a touchdown was a perfect example of that. No one even thought a...

When Looking for Someone to Blame for Dallas’ Loss to Giants, Look Away from Romo

After a second agonizing loss in as many weeks, there has to be plenty of finger-pointing going on inside the Dallas Cowboys organization. Jason Garrett’s big stink in the closing seconds of the Arizona game, and the atrocious “effort” of the Cowboys defense Monday night are obvious choices for blame game participants. But in the eyes of most football fans (which are more often...

Cowboys lead Giants 7-5 after first quarter

Tony Romo surpassed 20,000 career yards passing with a 12-yard touchdown pass to tight end John Phillips and the Dallas Cowboys took a 7-5 lead over the New York Giants after the first quarter Sunday night. Cowboys rookie running back DeMarco Murray had to be helped off the field at the end of an 8-yard run. It appeared that his right ankle got rolled under a defender while being...

Dallas Cowboys team report: Tony Romo can't be faulted for collapse

Tony Romo: Miles Austin Lost Sure Touchdown Ball in the Lights

After blowing a 34-22 lead to the Giants with under six minutes to go, Tony Romo acted like a model team leader by taking responsibility for his team’s loss. Just kidding. He threw teammate Miles Austin under the bus. The Cowboys had the ball after allowing the Giants to score a touchdown to make it [...]

Cowboys blow lead, possibly playoff chances

It doesn't get much worse than that. In the biggest game of the season, the Cowboys choked it away, falling to the New York Giants, 37-34, on Sunday night. Here are my thoughts: 1.) This one will sting for a long time. It was such a bad loss that Jerry Jones didn't even take questions after the game. He made about a 30-second statement and walked off. Defensive coordinator...

Giants-Cowboys Facts, Figures and Trends

The Cowboys, with Tony Romo at QB, have exactly one playoff game. The Giants with Eli Manning at QB, have won four – all in the same postseason. In three other postseasons, they were one and done. To say that both still have much to prove, even though their numbers are impressive, is an understatement. Eli needs to show the world he can still win the big game for the Blue....

I Hate When WAGs Where Their “Man’s” Jersey

Well, it didn’t take very long to find my new pet-peeve. It came to fruition on Sunday night, with Candace Crawford bouncing around like a ******* in Tony Romo’s jersey. I hate it. I hate when the WAG wears the husbands jersey in the crowd. It irritates me. I understand I’m probably a cold-hearted, negative jerkoff, but you don’t like what you don’t...

2012 NFL Draft: 5 Quarterbacks Dallas Cowboys Should Consider

Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE The Dallas Cowboys need a quarterback. No, not to replace Tony Romo; not today, anyway. Dallas placed backup quarterback Jon Kitna on injured reserve on Wednesday, meaning his NFL career is likely over. Now the only quarterbacks on the Cowboys’ active roster are Stephen McGee and Romo. McGee is the team’s primary backup now, but Dallas still...

Dallas Cowboys place quarterback on injured reserve list

The Dallas Cowboys have placed a quarterback on the injured reserve list. No, not Tony Romo, but second-string quarterback Jon Kitna. Jon Kitna is now finished for the rest of the season after failing to recover from a back injury which has plagued him over the course of the last four weeks. Kitna, 40, is under contract with the Cowboys through the 2013 season, but his career is...

The Football Gods Hate the Dallas Cowboys

The football gods giveth and the football gods taketh away. How else do you explain the Dallas Cowboys’ Jekyl and Hyde win-loss record from November to December? No matter what the Cowboys did wrong they couldn’t lose in November and now it seems that no matter what they do right they can’t win in December. I mean look at Tony Romo’s numbers from the last two games. He has...

Dallas Cowboys Take Giant Step Backward in Loss to New York on SNF: Time to Point Fingers

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. And I am still having a hard time believing what happened in this tale of two cities, two teams, and two football fates. With a 12-point lead and just over five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Dallas Cowboys managed to squander what would have been a formidable division lead and lose a gut-wrenching, heart-rending...

Cow-boys amongst men

If the current Cowboys season was a movie, it would be suspenseful from start to finish.  They have produced numerous nail-biting games with 9 games being decided under 7 points with all of them having game-winning scores within the last 2 minutes (or overtime). And even though the movie may not be finished, we can start to evaluate how good these Cowboys really are. It’s hard...

Coronation of Eli

You look at the quarterback ratings right now and see that Eli Manning is ranked only seventh in the league, three spots behind Tony Romo, two spots back of Matt Schaub of the Texans.
