Last week, Colts 101 introduced a new feature, the Antoine Bethea awards. Each week we'll honor a player, who like the award's namesake, is playing their way from relative obscurity into a position of importance with the Indianapolis Colts. This weeks winners include:

Griff Whalen- Whalen's performance was so good, I was tempted not to give any other awards out this week. He stood out that much. Whalen caught five balls for 63 yards, including a touchdown from Drew Stanton in heavy traffic. He caught four more passes on the night, mostly from Chandler Harnish, including one nice route down the seem that got the Colts out from deep in their own territory on third down. For a player that missed most of camp with a foot injury, the undrafted free agent certainly made some noise in last night's game.

Jerry Hughes- Hughes is our only repeat winner from last week and this will be the last time he can win the award. The former first round pick no longer fits the criteria. His performance in the first two weeks of the preseason has removed him from the obscurity he had played his way into during his first two seasons. Hughes had another sack last night and was drawing double teams. The new defensive scheme appears to be fitting right into Hughes' talents. He's flying all over the field, always around the ball if not making the tackle. Hughes had four other tackles last night in addition to his sack.

Latarrius Thomas- Thomas made the special teams "stick" of the night in the fourth quarter, eliciting a sideline celebration from his teammates. It's that kind of play on special teams that can create some room on the roster for a player like Thomas.

Mario Addison- If it weren't for Jerry Hughes, we'd be talking a lot more about the OLB on the other side. Addison also recorded a sack last night and has looked very good getting after the passer in his first two games with the Colts
