New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie is making leaps and bounds in taking over the leader role Darrelle Revis vacated when he was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s doing everything right. From being an apparent financial guru to now, according to NJ.Com, Cromartie plans to rent a house in California with some of his teammates. No not for baby making purposes, but to oversee the training of some of the younger teammates on the team. Some of the teammates statying with Cromartie includes Kyle Wilson, Aaron Berry, Stephen Hill, and Josh Bush. Cromartie says one of the goals is to get a “better understanding” of each other. By us working out together and understanding each other, we get a better feel for each other, too,” Cromartie said earlier this week. “Not just here, but outside of this building. That’s something we’re trying to build on. Cromartie when he was asked if the house would have a name: “It ain’t Cro West. It’s just the Cro Workout Regiment. Cromartie already started to take a leadership role last year with his outstanding play that led to a Pro Bowl appearance. Now he is taking the necessary steps to ensure he is the undisputed leader of the secondary and the defense.   Need NFL Tickets? Jets' secondary prepared for life after Revis

Darrelle Revis is a distant memory in the New York Jets' new-look secondary. Gone is the man considered by many to be one of the best players in team history, and perhaps the best cornerback in the NFL. But, Rex Ryan believes Antonio Cromartie can handle the load of being the No. 1 guy - especially since he did it last season when Revis got hurt. Ryan says Thursday that Cromartie...

No comment? No issue between Jets' Smith, Sanchez

Geno Smith is totally cool with camping out with Mark Sanchez. The New York Jets' rookie quarterback clarified his ''no comment'' responses from Wednesday - that seemed to suggest there could be some tension between the two guys competing for the starting job - when asked if he would join Sanchez's ''Jets West'' workouts next month normally...

Rex Ryan: ‘I’m a hell of a lot better football coach than I’m given credit for’

Rex Ryan isn’t quite ready to go back to making bold claims about what his team is going to do in the upcoming year, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t the same old blowhard we are all used to. He’s been making all kinds of public comments as of late, like taking a shot at the Patriots signing Tim Tebow, and threatening to replace all his wide receivers, and even making a comment...

New York Jets Minicamp: Kellen Winslow Jr Likely to Sign, Mike Sims-Walker not as Impressive

It looks like the New York Jets will go 1-for-2 on their high-profile tryouts at minicamp this week. Kellen Winslow Jr. has been impressive and will almost certainly end up signing a contract with the Jets. Mike Sims-Walker hasn't impressed at the same level, and his status with the team beyond minicamp is much less certain. The New York Jets are thin and inexperienced at tight...

Geno Smith Says He’ll Attend Mark Sanchez’s “Jets West” Camp

Smith answered the question with a no comment.  Many in the media assumed Smith was taking a swipe at Sanchez. Geno Smith clarifying his...

Job Security Issues for New York Jets

It’s the middle of June and most NFL teams are preparing for the season with mini-camps, and signing free agents, but not the Jets.  The Jets are yet again making headlines for the wrong reasons.  Let’s start with the day after the NFL draft and the five quarterbacks on the Jets’ roster, who were led to believe that it is going to be an “open competition”; weeks later...

Rex Ryan: I'm better than people give me credit for

Rex Ryan knows he's living on borrowed time this season.  It's either an extended run into the playoffs or the unemployment line for the head coach of the New York Jets. With a depleted roster and another unstable quarterback situation, the cards are stacked high against Ryan still being with the Jets on New Year's Day.  Still, the blustery coach was defiant as ever...

SOURCE: NBC SportsFantasy Spin:Rex Ryan has been incredibly disappointed with the performance of his tight ends and wide receivers in mini camp and OTAs, citing dropped passes as his primary frustration. New York Jets – Demario Davis Has “It”

Demario Davis’ career as a New York Jet began with a staggering comparison and 36 tackles. When the Jets called his name with pick number 77 in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, Jet fans were left wondering who the linebacker was. This reaction was justified as Davis had not been linked to the Jets and had a fifth round or lower grade from most “draft experts”. The first...
