There has been drama surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders as of late, and this time, it's a rookie who didn't even get drafted to their team who is at the center of it all. His unintentional actions have sparked a controversy that has everyone talking.
When the Las Vegas Raiders went on the clock at No. 13 in the 2024 NFL Draft, they made a decision that left everyone, including us, in shock. Instead of the expected cornerback or offensive tackle, they chose to draft Brock Bowers, a move that was as surprising as it was bold.
But it was the right move. One cornerback who went a little later said that the Raiders almost drafted him, and it was actually a coin flip.
"They [Detroit Lions] knew there was a possibility the Raiders would get me," cornerback Terrion Arnold said. "And actually, the Raiders coach called me after and told me you know we had a coin toss between you and Brock Bowers, and it landed on him. I was like, oh wow..."
How did the Raiders decide between drafting Terrion Arnold and Brock Bowers?

That's where the drama comes in. People are literally taking the symbolic speech of a coin flip as a literal meaning. That's not at all what happened. Champ Kelly said it isn't, and now Antonio Pierce denies that's what happened. He was brutally honest.
"No call, and no coin flip," Pierce told ESPN's Ryan Clark. "As soon as the last two QBs went off the board, we said Bowers all the way."
The Raiders were all in on Bowers when they saw he was going to be available.
