Comments on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses): TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (26) Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 21): Another potential bounce-back team. Bucs were much better than they played year ago, and added more talent than any other team in offseason. Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 22): From 4-12 to 8-8 in one season under Schiano. Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 22): Greg Schiano reminds me of coaches on the top of this list. Bob Glauber (Newsday, 23): Rookie coach Greg Schiano has hands full in Year 1. Young team means plenty of growing pains, but payoff could be promising down road. Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 25): Greg Schiano brings new attitude. However, this isn't quick-fix situation. Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 25): At least Bucs should be more disciplined bunch under first-year head coach Greg Schiano. Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 26): Could feature eight new starters under first-year coach Greg Schiano. John Lynch (Fox Sports, 26): Here's hoping my former team makes me eat my words under new head coach Greg Schiano. I like Bucs' talent, especially with additions of Vincent Jackson and Carl Nicks that will help QB Josh Freeman rebound. It's hard to erase from my mind this team quitting last year. Attitude adjustment time in Tampa. Chris Berman (ESPN, 26): Josh Freeman is man on mission. Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 26): If Josh Freeman has bounce-back year, Bucs can bounce back while rebuilding under new coach Greg Schiano. Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 27): New coach Greg Schiano must get Josh Freeman back on track. Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 27): Josh Freeman will get back to 2010 form, but young defensive front needs to get better as well. --- Online: http://bigstory.ap.org/NFL-Pro32 and http://twitter.com/AP-NFL

Doug Martin looking like the Bucs’ primary back

Talib focused on getting back to football

TAMPA, Fla. Gray skies and a refreshing summer shower greeted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they walked off the practice field Wednesday morning following another grueling training camp workout. It was a welcome relief from the stifling heat and humidity. And it had to feel especially good to cornerback Aqib Talib considering the heat of a different sort hed faced for more than...

Buccaneers RB Doug Martin Looking Like Fantasy Football Sleeper And NFL Starter In Tampa Bay

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded back into the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft in order to select Boise State RB Doug Martin. That move sent a strong message to the incumbent tailback, LeGarrette Blount. But in training camp thus far, Martin is sending an even stronger message to Blount and the rest of the team. That message is simple. Martin is ready to start the 2012 regular season...

Rookie RB Doug Martin Running Away With Starting Job

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Buccaneers rookie running back Doug Martin is taking a large majority of the first-team reps in practice, and he also received the bigger share of the reps when the Bucs ran a pass-protection drill Sunday.Fantasy Spin:While Tampa Bay won't release a depth chart for at least another week, it is looking more and more like Martin will be the lead...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Greg Schiano Runs Tight Ship

Greg Schiano has a plan. Whether or not it will work remains to be seen, but make no mistake about it -- he's has a plan. The only thing straighter than the crease in Schiano's khakis could be that marine-like jaw. That, or his approach towards people. Not just players or coaches, but people in general.  I recently had the pleasure of meeting coach Schiano, face to face...

Former Bronco Doug Martin Impressing Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It looks like we were correct in our analysis of Doug Martin.  Early into camp Martin is impressing the coaching staff and players. "He made some explosive runs (Sunday) where you really see why they drafted him so high," guard Davin Joseph said. "He reminds you of a Ray Rice or Maurice Jones-Drew. He's very crafty and he really understands the run game."...

Bucs have found a new formula for team building

I was chief among the Raheem Morris supporters since he was promoted to Head Coach in 2009. I had followed Morris' carreer since rejoining the Bucs in 2007 after the defense fell apart during the departure of himself and a few other key coaches following the 2005 division championship team, a Bucs squad that had more potential to do damage in the playoffs than anyone has ever...

Freeman geared to get Buccaneers back to postseason

TAMPA -- Josh Freeman still is growing as a quarterback. But everywhere else, he believes less will be more. The 6-6 Freeman lost 20 pounds during the offseason, going from 257 to 237 pounds. Although he wasn't asked to shed weight by the organization, he says it has helped his endurance and flexibility while not limiting his strength. One year after throwing 25 touchdowns...

Top 5 Bounce-Back Fantasy Recievers for 2012

Last season there were a significant amount of fantasy football players who simply did not perform quite the way we all thought they were going to. We can attribute this to perhaps a shortened off-season thanks to the CBA debacle or just the player being in a crappy situation that nobody saw coming, but either way, a certain percentage of these players are certainly due for a...
