A person familiar with the deal says the New York Jets and veteran safety Yeremiah Bell have agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth $1.4 million. The former Miami Dolphins starter adds depth to the safety position, a spot that has been overhauled this offseason. Starter Eric Smith remains, but the Jets also signed LaRon Landry a few weeks ago, and drafted Josh Bush in the sixth round and Antonio Allen in the seventh. The deal includes $1.3 million fully guaranteed, according to the person who spoke Friday to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team had not announced the move. first reported the deal.
