A person familiar with the situation says the Carolina Panthers have agreed to a one-year contract with unrestricted free agent safety Mike Mitchell. The person spoke to The Associated Press Wednesday on condition of anonymity because the move has not been publically announced. Mitchell played in 61 games with nine starts during four seasons with the Oakland Raiders. He had 41 tackles last season and one sack. Mitchell will have a chance to compete for the Panthers starting strong safety job with Haruki Nakamura and D.J. Campbell. The team moved Charles Godfrey to free safety last season. On his Twitter page Mitchell thanked the Raiders, saying ''Oakland will always be in my heart'' but added, ''I look forward to the opportunity to be a Carolina Panther.''

Oakland Raiders: Tim Tebow fantasy extravaganza

I want to start this out by saying that there is no way that Tim Tebow will ever wear Silver and Black in 2013, but imagine if Tebow became a member of the Oakland Raiders in 2013. This is what would happen if Tebow signed with the Oakland Raiders in 2013. For starters Tebow would compete with Carson Palmer and Terrelle Pryor for the starting job. Palmer would be cut for cap reasons...

Oakland Raiders - To trade or not to trade.

Two more starters and picks from the '09 draft have vacated for greener (Cha Ching) pastures. The very solid and productive Tight End Brandon Myers(79/806 4 tds in 2012) and pass rusher Matt Shaughnessy, who has been chronically injured but his potential is off the charts. With other starters including long time Raider and perpetually the best punter in the NFL Shane Lechler...

Breaking News: Ted Ginn Agrees to Terms with Carolina Panthers

Breaking News - Former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver and kick returner Ted Ginn has agreed to a 1-year contract with the Carolina Panthers. NFL Impact - Look for Ginn to earn most of his playing time in 2013 acting as the return man for the Panthers. Considering how thin Carolina’s receiving depth is though, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him used some as a third or fourth...
