Apology to Brian Dawkins!

I just wanted to take the time after the Eagles/Steelers game to apologize & congratulate Brian Dawkins on an OUTSTANDING performance in today's win against a game & VERY tough Pittsbugh Steelers team. The entire defense played a whale of a game but I saw Dawkins out there flying around and "making" things happen on the football field and that's what this team has to do to win football games in the NFL this season. It was nice to see the Eagles team win a game without a lights out offensive performance but rather with lights out defensive play. Defense wins championships and that's where it starts when talking about a Super Bowl caliber team (not saying the Eagles are yet but I'm close to putting that label on them) coming out of the NFC. Dawkins flat out played his butt off and I watched the whole game and saw those intagibles a pro bowl safety has to have come Sunday. Me & my son was like wow! on that diving forced fumble he made on Big Ben, that was just an awesome display of true heart & grit by Dawkins and helped to seal the win. This defense is a much better group than last year's group for sure, they don't give up alot of rushing yards, the linebacking corps is as good as there is in the league and the secondary will only get better for sure. Good tackling as well today; also last week's game against the Cowboys to me was just a lil too early for the Eagles defensive wise but that was my point about being patient and that week 2 game was just a lil too early in the season to gauge how good this defense is going to be but you just knew Jim Johnson & Co was going to rebound at home this week against the Steelers knowing Ben was still smarting from that injured shoulder AND that they could get to the QB against a weak Pittsburgh offensive line. Finally there is some injury concerns for the Eagles HOWEVER no need to panic cause if your going to have injuries its best to have them early in the season and to allow players like McNabb, Westbrook, Andrews & Curtis to heal during the early part of the schedule which allows for players like Baskett and Jackson to just get better every week! Congrats to da Eagles whole team and on to Week 4 on the road against a tough Bears team!
