Archie Manning has called an audible.
One day after telling Fox Sports Radio that he didn't think son Peyton and Andrew Luck could co-exist with the Indianapolis Colts, the elder Manning changed his tune on Wednesday.
"I'm sure they could," he said in a phone interview. "Andrew is a great young man and we've enjoyed getting to know him. He and Peyton have a friendship, and I'm one of the few people out there that's not really concerned about this deal. All good people respect each other and I'm sure this will all shake out."
The Mannings and Lucks have known each other spanning back three decades when Archie and Oliver Luck were teammates in Houston.
Andrew Luck is expected to be the top overall pick of the 2012 draft. Winless Indianapolis (0-12) is in line to "earn" the top pick.

Theres a lot to be said for being a good dad.
An awful lot, really.
But theres also a lot to be said for a good dad not trying to run a team fromafar. Unfortunately, this is what happened this week with the Mannings, theNFLs first family, a group that evidently feels it can control a team on thefield and off. After conducting one of the most non-leaky coaching searches in the history of coaching searches, Archie Manning and Mike Glenn, co-chairs of the search committee, arrived at the conclusion that Arkansas State head coach Hugh Freeze was the "best fit" for Ole Miss and offered him the job. Freeze, as you know by now, accepted the job and was introduced yesterday afternoon...

In 2004, former NFL quarterback and super-dad Archie Manning attempted to keep his son Eli away from the San Diego Chargers in the NFL Draft. The Chargers took him anyway, and traded him to the New York Giants. That event got Archie a rep as a bit of a meddler, though it could also be said that any parent would want the best for his child, and the Eli strategy certainly wasn'...
Archie Manning joined the "The Dan Patrick Show" on Wednesday to clear up his comments about his son, Peyton, coexisting with Andrew Luck -- if the Colts were to draft the Stanford quarterback.
Peyton Manning has said that, by March, his future in Indianapolis will become apparent.
