In case you haven’t heard, Super Bowl XLVII is a week away and it pits San Francisco, going for their record-tying 6th Lombardi trophy and Baltimore who is going for their second. On a personal level and for many of my fellow Steelers’ brethren, this match-up is a nightmare wrapped in a horror movie. It’s a catch-22 of epic proportions. Root for the 49ers to beat the hated-Ravens? If they win, they tie the Steelers with six Super Bowl titles. Root for the Ravens and you’ve pretty much turned in your card as a Steelers’ fan. It’s a horrible proposition for all of us, unless you play for the Pittsburgh Steelers where apparently its’ OK to root for your most hated rival. In the last week, Steelers’ All-Pro centrer Maurkice Pouncey announced that he was rooting for the Ravens to win. In essence going with the ‘represent the AFC’ line of thinking which as a player, I suppose I understand to a certain degree. This morning on Twitter, Charlie Batch also threw his support behind Baltimore a...

  • Amazes me the reasoning some people have for why to root for/against certain teams, etc.

    It's simple, truly.

Pittsburgh Steelers are "The King". Why? 6 rings.

Any Steeler fan/player/organization member should naturally have a desire to stay "King", so you root for the team that has the fewest rings. Period.

Hines Ward blames Steelers receivers for missing playoffs

Pittsburgh Steelers former wide receiver Hines Ward wanted to play another season and could see the Steelers young receivers needed a leader, but the team felt he could no longer perform at a high level. Steelers Safety Ryan Clark Drops Twitter Account; Sparks Rumors

Ryan Clark, the Steelers starting free safety, has dropped his Twitter account for an unknown reason. Five Positions That The Steelers Will Address In 2013 Draft

By Jeremy Hritz It’s no secret that the Pittsburgh Steelers have several areas of need heading into the 2013 NFL Draft, and while need normally does not dictate who they draft early on, they will more than likely use their later picks to address lack of depth at certain positions. If when the Steelers select at pick 17, the best player on the board happens to be at their position...

Is Steelers Star Safety Troy Polamalu Unfairly Labeled as Injury Prone?

There is no denying the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers safeties, Ryan Clark and Troy Polamalu, are getting older. Polamalu will soon turn 32 and Clark will turn 34 during the 2013 season. However, there is also no denying the fact that when healthy Clark and Polamalu are still a very good tandem at safety on the Steelers defense. Regardless of production though the Steelers have...

Hines Ward the zombie not near as scary as Hines Ward the celebrity chef

Roger Goodell Has a 39% Approval Rating With Players

Even George Bush is like damn homie…. There are various reasons why players in general don’t like Roger Goodell, but I think it is summed up best by Steelers James Harrison. “I think it’s obvious that I disapprove.” Harrison has been fined more than $100,000 in his career for hits the NFL has deemed against the rules. “I feel like what he’s doing is not totally for...
