It’s hard to imagine that our beloved Steelers are sitting at 1-2, and may be facing a must win situation this Sunday against the Eagles. It’s even harder to think that in week 5 you have a must win game period. The proverbial “there’s a lot of football left” adage does indeed still ring true, but digging yourself out of a potential 1-3 hole is not exactly confidence inspiring to say the least. If you’re one of those fans that likes to look ahead during the NFL season; calculating the probability of what seed the Steelers can potentially get in the playoffs, then you’re probably not a happy camper right now. Heck, let’s face it, none of our regardless. There are several good options on the web that calculate NFL teams probability at making the post season each week. For the Steelers, it’s not exactly looking all that great right now so maybe this game coming up is indeed a must win. Before we jump into the divisional outlook just take a gander at PlayoffStatus.com, and you’ll see th...

Steelers Injury Report: Troy Polamalu, James Harrison, Rashard Mendenhall

Based on their participation during Monday’s practice, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin expects safety Troy Polamalu, linebacker James Harrison and running back Rashard Mendenhall to return this week against the Philadelphia Eagles: “Based on what I am looking at on how we worked yesterday I think that is a safe assessment,” said Tomlin when asked...

James Harrison, Troy Polamlu fully practiced on Monday

The Steelers have been without linebacker James Harrison for the entire regular season so far and safety Troy Polamalu has been out since week one.  Both players fully practiced on Monday and it looks like Polamalu will at least have a very good chance at playing this week against the Eagles. With nothing certain, Harrison made it clear that he’s hopeful he’ll be on the field...

Steelers LB James Harrison, FS Troy Polamalu Return To Practice

The starting defense the Steelers thought they were getting when the season opened finally practiced together on Monday. There's still no telling if the same 11 guys will suit up on Sunday against Philadelphia. Injured stars James Harrison and Troy Polamalu were on the field as the Steelers (1-2) returned from their bye week. While Harrison remained vague about the chances...

Steelers are there for the taking by Eagles...

I will never be the one to say any regular season matchup with the Steelers is predictable...but the Eagles have a terrific chance to go into Game 5 of the 2012 season with Pittsburgh and set the tone for a playoff run. You may say it's too early to begin speaking of playoffs ("Playoffs! Are you kidding me!!), but to come out of Heinz Field this Sunday with a "...

Steelers SS Troy Polamalu, LB James Harrison Likely To Play Vs Eagles

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin told reporters it's a "safe assessment" that safety Troy Polamalu, linebacker James Harrison and running back Rashard Mendenhall will play Sunday vs. the Philadelphia Eagles. Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reporter Alan Robinson tweeted the news. Harrison missed all of training camp and hasn't played this season after knee surgery...

Steelers Expect RB Rashard Mendenhall To Return Vs Eagles

The Steelers are very un-Steeler like when it comes to running the football these days, but, perhaps, help is on the way. Rashard Mendenhall is expected to make his debut Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles at Heinz Field. Mendenhall, who posted two 1,000-yard rushing seasons in the past three years, missed the first three games of the regular season while recovering from mid...

Philadelphia Eagles take down rival Giants

On the night when former Eagle Brian Dawkins was honored, the Philadelphia Eagles took down the arch rival Giants, 19-17 behind a strong defensive effort. The Eagles bounced back after an embarrassing loss to Arizona last week, which shows the true heart and determination of this team. What is more impressive is that the Eagles have won all three of their games by scoring on their...

Video: This kid has aspirations of being a Pittsburgh Steeler

He is only 9-years-old, but this kid already is doing his best to emulate members of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Detroit Lions with his play. Check out #11, the big kid. He was suspended a game for his dirty play. How often does a youth football player get suspended for dirty play? His coach [...]

Eagles Injury Report: Michael Vick, Nnamdi Asomugha, Antrel Rolle

The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-1 and lead the NFC East, but it hasn't been easy.  They have been outscored by 17 points this season, they've turned the ball over far too often, and they've had to battle through injuries.  Here is your Eagles injury report: According to Marc Sessler of NFL.com, Michael Vick suffered a knee contusion in yesterday's win.  Andy...

Eagles RB LeSean McCoy Says Knee Swelling Will Be Fine

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy injured his knee in Sunday night's victory over the New York Giants, but head coach Andy Reid said that it is nothing more than a little tweak, according to NFL reporter Adam Caplan. Reid acknowledged that McCoy's knee is swelling up, but then reiterated that he is fine. McCoy rushed for 123 yards on 23 carries Sunday night and added 17...

Eagles Off to a 3-1 Start, But How Confident Are You?

The Three Stooges or the Three Wise Men? For the 5th time in the Andy Reid era, the Philadelphia Eagles are off to a 3-1 start after the first quarter of the season. Usually, a 3-1 start is cause for excitement and confidence as we head into the meat of the schedule. However, this is perhaps the diciest-feeling 3-1 I've ever felt in all my years of following the Eagles. For...

Giants lose to the Eagles 19-17 in a heartbreaking loss

The Philadelphia Eagles (3-1) beat the New York Giants (2-2) 19-17, last night at Lincoln Financial Field from Philadelphia, PA. What a heartbreaking loss for the New York Giants as Lawrence Tynes missed the potential game winning 54 yard field goal which felled short of the goal post at the end of the game. The blame obviously goes to Ramses Barden who was called for offensive...
