Everyone experiences some level of stress at work. While there’s plenty of fame and fortune to be had for highly-productive players in the NFL, certain risks are also amplified, such as a variety of severe injuries and potential high levels of stress.
When Houston Texans running back Arian Foster went down in the team’s Week 16 loss to the Minnesota Vikings with an irregular heartbeat, it was considered to be a minor issue.

Foster returned to the field the following week, rushing for 96 yards and a score on 16 carries, averaging 6.0 yards a pop. For the regular season, the 6-1, 228-pound star running back chalked up 1,424 yards and 15 touchdowns on 351 attempts (4.1 YPC) and added 40 catches for 217 yards and two touchdowns through the air in 16 games (all starts).
One might suspect that an irregular heartbeat would take a tole on the performance from a professional athlete...
