The Houston Texans running back who’s used the social media platform for everything from updating the world on his dietary habits to posting locker room bulletin board material in the form of Dan Shaughnessy columns, is quitting twitter. Around 4:15 yesterday morning, Foster tweeted the following: It’s been fun, twitter! Time for me to leave the digital realm. Be the light you want to see on the earth. Peace. — Arian Foster (@ArianFoster) March 4, 2013 Foster has not tweeted since, so it looks like his self imposed twitter exile may be for real, at least for now. Even still, swearing off twitter is a difficult proposition for even the average Joe user, so a star athlete with over 370,000 followers may find it even more challenging to stay away from the lure of the 140 character mistress. Here’s hoping Foster’s exile is brief. We need more athletes of all sorts on twitter.
