Asked about Arian Foster’s carry limit Monday night Kubiak joked that he’d set it at “42.” “I’ll tell you what he looks really good” Kubiak said. “He’s come a long way. I’ve been impressed with his wind his conditioning. It’ll be the first time he’s been hit – that’s just part of it – but he’s come a long way. He had some good work. He had a really good day today. Obviously we’re going into the game with both he and Ben (Tate) ready to get after it. That’s the way we’ve got it orchestrated.” Foster started training camp rehabbing a calf injury he’d suffered on the first day of OTAs in May then began having problems with his back. He wound up never playing or practicing during the preseason returning to work only this week. Wade Smith good to go All indications are Wade Smith will be back at left guard Monday night less than a month after he underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair knee cartilage damage. The Texans were planning to bring him along more slowly but Smith coming off a Pro Bowl season definitely had other ideas. “Wade’s fine” Kubiak said. “He took the full load of practice today. He’s made one heck of a recovery. He’s worked extremely hard to be there for his team. We tried to talk to him about doing this much today and this much tomorrow but he wouldn’t have any of it. He said ‘I’m coming back.’”
