Although on the surface this game may look like a yawner, when looking at the possible playoff implications it gets a lot more interesting.  With a San Francisco 49ers win and Green Bay Packers loss, the 49ers would get a very important first round bye in the playoffs.  Even though the Cardinals have been eliminated from the playoffs, head coach Ken Whisenhunt has found himself on the coaching hot seat after a disappointing 5-10 record so far.  One more win may not save Whisenhunt his job, but it definitely couldn't hurt. Both teams should come out prepared and trying hard for a win in this season finale match-up, because of that here are three bold predictions for this weekends game. The 49ers will control the ground all game.  The Cardinals have a much improved pass defense this year, however their run defense is still lacking.  With the great running abilities of Colin Kaepernick and Frank Gore, the 49ers should have no problem running the ball.  Even if the Cardinals defense is able to limit Kaepernick's effectiveness passing the ball, he will still be able to help his team with his ability to pick up yards using his legs on his way to helping the 49ers run for 200 yards as a team. The Cardinals throw for under 100 yards again.  The Cardinals aren't doing themselves any favors by starting their 4th different quarterback this year vs. the Niners this week.  Brian Hoyer will make his first start for the Cardinals this week as he will attempt to improve on his 11/19 passing for 105 yards last week vs. the Chicago Bears.Although Hoyer did pass for over 100 yards himself last week, this Cardinals team has thrown for under 100 yards multiple times this year and will do so again this week vs. an impressive 49ers defense. The 49ers will beat the Cardinals and get a first round bye.  This two part prediction will rely on the Minnesota Vikings beating the current number two seed the Green Bay Packers on Sunday as well as the 49ers winning.  Both have a good possibility of happening yet there is always the chance one of the two won't happen. Both games are being played at 4:25 ET on Sunday and if both are close late it could turn into an interesting end to the second round of games in Week 17.
