The Arizona Cardinals go into their bye week with a pedestrian record of 4-5. Before the season started you would be considered optimistic if you pegged the Cardinals at 4-5 so far. However, with the fast start the Cardinals got out to, winning their first four games, sitting at 4-5 right now seems a disappointment.
When breaking down the Cardinals defense there are many things to like. Number one is that cornerback Patrick Peterson evolved into a more shutdown corner and on this pace should become one of the premier corners in the NFL in a few years. Linebacker Daryl Washington is continuing to improve as he already has 75 tackles and eight sacks through nine games, if he continues this pace I fully expect him to make his first Pro-Bowl.… Read more

Cardinals running back Beanie Wells returned to practice after missing six weeks with a severe turf toe injury, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports.

Arizona Cardinals: Week 10 NFL Power Rankings (#23)
Last week: 23 (+0)
Record: 4-5
Well, at least they’ll always have the memory of being 4-0 right. Well, unless someone tries to delete the history of it. Michael Silver proclaimed them the best team in the league after their 3-0 start and I wrote about how he was an idiot for doing so because Buffalo and Washington did similar things last year. 3 game winning streaks are not special...

Mike Leach isn’t taking losing well
Washington State hasn’t been particularly good at football for about a decade. In fact, the last time the Cougars posted a winning record was in 2003 (that season was actually the third straight 10-win campaign for WSU). They would need to roll together the past five seasons’ worth of results right now to accumulate 10 wins.
Mike Leach entered Cougartown this season. He’s...
Packers Playbook (aka Hobbjective Analysis): Week 9 versus Arizona Cardinals
Perhaps the most surprising aspect of the Packers win over the Arizona Cardinals was that they run the ball effectively. I’m pretty sure Packers fans were as surprised by me, but the Packers really ran the ball well and actually committed to giving their backs enough reps to feel comfortable with the offense. The final stat line: Alex Green (11 rushes for 53 yards, 4.8YPC...
