According to Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic, the Cardinals have signed cornerback 5-foot-10 Greg McCoy to the practice squad and have released Larry Parker from the practice team. A TCU product, McCoy was drafted in the seventh round of this year's NFL draft by the Chicago Bears and spent the preseason with them. He was the 220th player selected in the draft. The Bears released him on Aug. 31.

Tough game ahead

The Cardinals have been installed as 13 1/2 point underdogs against the New England Patriots this Sunday. They are the biggest underdog in the NFL in Week Two. Not only will it be New England's home opener but Tom Brady and company looked very impressive in their 34-13 rout of the Tennessee Titans last Sunday.

Teams in the Mountain and Pacific time zones quite often have trouble traveling to the Eastern time zone to play a 1 pm contest. Not only that but starting quarterback John Skelton is out for the next 2-4 weeks with his low ankle sprain. Kevin Kolb, who led the Red Birds in their fourth quarter comeback last Sunday against Seattle, will get the start in a very tough environment.

Ah Paris

One more note from Sunday's win against the Seahawks – linebacker Paris Lenon recorded two of Arizona's three sacks against Seattle. It was the first time in his 160-game NFL career that he had more than one sack in a game.

Leon liked the way the Cardinals never gave up after falling behind against the Seahawks.

"We have a tremendous amount of resolve," Lenon told Yahoo Sports. "But you always want to be sure you have that, and from this first game, we know we still have that."

We'll see if the Cardinals have it when they take on the Patriots.

It will be quite a challenge indeed.
